Paul R Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 You all have been very busy!! How many books have you all completed?
EuRob Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Hey DeruelleCarl Eduard is that by any chance Charles Edward Coburg (British Royal family)? It does look like him and the names are nearly the same and I believed he was a duke in Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Watched a tv programme recently about this man and saw your medal and kinda made a connection.Pretty sad how his life turned out torn between his roots and duty but thats another story.Cheers Rob
David Gregory Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Christophe,Very nice example! This an award that I am also looking for including, of course a document.David
Guest Rick Research Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Ah, thanks Christophe! that's the first time I've seen them in a pile. Mine still haven't arrived yet.
Daniel Krause Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Hi Christophe,so now You are a busy man, or???I think now it will be even more difficult to get something from Thuringia before You. Best regardsDaniel
Paul C Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I knew that books very out but that is the first time I have seen them. For those who research medal bars and riibon bar these award rolls are a must have. The ranklists are NOT enough since these do not given 1914-18 awards. The ranklists are good for pre-war and foreign awards. I can not stress enough that if you do not have the research material (ranklists and award rolls) that you can not do the research!!
