Wild Card Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Gentlemen,Post #3 in the thread ?Brunswick Front-line Service Clasp? which shows a ?maker?s label? to Ordens-Hopke K?ln gave me an idea. At the risk that it has been done before, I would like to start a thread which shows identifiable work of different makers based upon their labels. Aside from the obvious information and entertainment that such a thread could provide, I am thinking that, among other things, it could establish a database of identifiable characteristics of the various makers products which might become helpful in detecting fake and ?fooled with? bars. Before we get started, I would like to ask that we stick to the makers and not get caught up with content and (recipient) identification; that can be addressed in separate threads. Thank you.Wild Card
Komtur Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Nice idea Wild Card! Here is another Uhlig for comparison:
Guest Rick Research Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 The very prolific C.G. Ulrich Nachfolger HamburgPre-Hindenburg Cross 1934/35-- ? 1920s?
Guest Rick Research Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Useful in this case to see both a ribbon bar and medal bar presumably both made by them, together:Though probably not many of THEIR tags remain, being cheap paper and not sewn on cloth:
Komtur Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Another kind of label by C.G. Ulrich / Hamburg:
Claudio Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Like Rick's spange I had in my pawns - for a short time since I sent it back to the Dealer (Niemann) because I wasn't satisfied with the DA 1. Kl. which looked very doubtful - a Gante's made bar, the same "cheapo" kinda paper label with no stitching...Ciao,Claudio
Claudio Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 (edited) I have got also a Ulrich's bar to show...@ Komtur: I like your civilian Tuxedo medal bar very much! Congrats... Edited February 28, 2008 by Claudio
Claudio Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 A Sedlatzek's medal... sorry I don't have larger pictures of it...
Deruelle Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Hi, The only one I have is from SedlatzekChristophe
Claudio Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Here's a quite pristine bar with the "J. Reimann" label...
