    Dear Daredvil,

    Amet-Han Sultan (sp?).

I think he died in a test flight in the 1970's.

    DD

    CONGRATULATIONS :beer::beer:

You are correct for the main question.

If you can answer the little extra question - animal at the nose of Sultan's fighter-plane -, than it is your turn.

    Best regards

    Best regards

    Christian

I thought he had a black eagle on the nose of his La-7 but i might be mixing him up with another ace.

    OK, here is mine:

The ranks of Senior Marshal of Communications Troops and Senior Marshal of Engineering Troops: what do they have in common, that together make them unique (from what I can tell) in the history of the Red Army?

No one ever held this rank.

Thank you, Christophe. Sorry for the delay.

    Below is a list of ... ?

    Newspaper Komsomol'skaya Pravda

The list is far from complete and has gaps in it. It is continued in the next post.

That was my confusion too, Christophe. What was the question?

They are all male? (Not Pravda!) They were all Marshal of the SU? (Not Pravda!) They are all deceased? That must be right!!

Do I win three times? :P

All won the Order of Lenin? All won the Red Banner?? All were recipients "#1" of one of the major orders???

How many more "right" answers are needed????

    :P

    Dear Ed,

I think you are right - brilliant

    I don't know the first comrade, but he might have got ORB s/n. 1 or ORB #2 s/n 1, Bluecher got RS s/n. 1, the K. Pravda Lenin s/n. 1, Stalin HSL s/n. 1 and Zhukov Suvorov 1cl. s/n. 1 and Victory s/n. 1

    Best regards

Several forum members have answered the question. Each photo shows the first recipient of a Soviet award. I didn't know how to phrase the question more precisely and not give the answer away. Since it was confusing, Ed, Christophe and Christian can decide among themselves who gets the next turn.

    Simon,

No pb with the phrasing... as the sagacity of Ed made it :jumping::jumping: . That was a good one, and we have now to congratulate Ed : Ed is the winner!!!!

    Your turn, Ed.

While I see it as a shared victory (a properly socialist attitude), with my role being vague, I shall accept the leader's (Christophe's) dictate. Await what I hope won't be a too-easy question.
