Sergeant 08 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) Just for fun! PS: Not from my collection, but perhaps in the collection of another collector!? Edited August 9, 2013 by Sergeant 08
Robin Lumsden Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 I prefer these .................. ;)
Sergeant 08 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) Lego vs. Playmobil. Good to see that you support Playmobil. Edited August 9, 2013 by Sergeant 08

Robin Lumsden Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 Nice! These guys always 'twist their arms' for the photographer to show off their TK badges. ;)
Robin Lumsden Posted September 17, 2013 Author Posted September 17, 2013 Rick Research will be sorely missed from this thread. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/59897-very-sad-announcement-re-rick-research/ RIP Rick, old buddy.
Sergeant 08 Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 (edited) It was always popular to be a Totenkopfhusar. Edited September 29, 2013 by Sergeant 08
Chris Boonzaier Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Does anyone have 1 or 2 really clear photos of the FW Skull being worn that I can use? I am looking for these for a project I am working one. If it is EK award day and the guy is wearing his EK... even better ;-)
Robin Lumsden Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Another TK kid ....................
Robin Lumsden Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 And a real oddity ................SS-TV medic ???
Sergeant 08 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 (edited) I remember, the photo was sold with others. The description was a "Drogerist" (a guy who is working in a drugstore). Edited October 9, 2013 by Sergeant 08
Robin Lumsden Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Interesting. Great photo. But, in my opinion, an SS-TV medic, not a 'drogerist'. See the guy on the left here, with the SS runes badge ....................... a bona fide Concentration Camp medic. And see the similarity of badge weave between the runes and skulls insignia ..................... and the uniform white coat dress ..................... Sports runes (and sports skull) on the white coat. Runes for SS-VT and skulls for SS-TV. Just like the collars. In over 40 years, I have seen only 2 examples of these woven skulls ........................ Too rare for swimmers alone ???
Chris Boonzaier Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I remember, the photo was sold with others. The description was a "Drogerist" (a guy who is working in a drugstore). Is it possible to see the whole photo? What makes us think they are SS? Are there uniformed guys as well?

In my opinion there were details in the other photos, that gave me the impression of a post war photo lot. But I did not save the other photos. Edited October 9, 2013 by Sergeant 08
Robin Lumsden Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 I have seen more than 2. I'm still thinking a post war badge. I'm thinking pre-war ................... Look at the construction ............... EXACTLY like the SS sports runes .....................
Chris Boonzaier Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Realistically, productions methods did not change in 1945. My sons swimming badges use the same process, although modern nylon material. I think a 1935 and 1950 badge are probably the same process and material?
Sergeant 08 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I'm thinking pre-war ................... Look at the construction ............... EXACTLY like the SS sports runes ..................... I know what you mean. We need a photo for an final answer again.
Robin Lumsden Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Agreed, Chris. But this TK is NOT nylon.
Robin Lumsden Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 This one IS nylon...................
Robin Lumsden Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 I know what you mean. We need a photo for an final answer again. Korrekt !!
Sergeant 08 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 (edited) In the meantime... I know a collector, who managed to get this picture. It could be very interesting for this thread. Edited October 9, 2013 by Sergeant 08
