EK 1914 1914 EK2 single mounted

this will be one of my last postings this year-nothing new but a really nice single mounted 2nd class iron cross.

Normally I'm collecting maker marked EKs,but I couldn't let it go.......here are the pics!

Looks like a Saxon mount. I've seen similar on veterans' pieces but never on an EK.

I agree with Tom... you'll see this unusual tri-folded mounting on many, many Saxon Veteran's Organization Service Medals.

Nice piece. I have one on the non combatant ribbon with the same shaped mounting. It reminds me of the pentagonal mounts the Russian medals are on.
