Karsten S Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Thought I would show you this early FLL ROAG, with buntmetall wreath and aluminum eagle. This is in top condition with high polish on the obverse highlights. These are rare an so underrated. I know of only one with cupal wreath and alu eagle. Please post your FLL ROAG Cheers Karsten
J Temple-West Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I must say that I’m not a big fan of FLL’s RO/AG or Observer badges, but this example is certainly helping me change my mind. An unusual combination of materials + wonderful condition makes this badge quite special. Good find, Karsten.
Scott Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I've not seen an FLL RO/AG before - this one is stunning!
tyanacek Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Very nice looking badge, Karsten. I've always liked the look of Friedrich Linden Air Gunner Badges. Here is a late war zinc version FLL badge that I have owned for a long time. It think it has a great look for a zinc badge. Best regards, Tom
Scott Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Another nice one. FLL has a very bold eagle design with nice details.
nesredep Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Hello! Very nice, thanks for sharing with us. All the best Nesredep.
Karsten S Posted September 26, 2009 Author Posted September 26, 2009 This is the rarest FLL ROAG I have ever seen. Handled it last weekend. It is very light weighted. Enjoy Cheers Karsten
Steve P Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Hi Karsten, Nice badge...and it looks like it has some fans!...must have come from a good chap I'd say! cheers, S
Steve K. Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I would very much like to own that cupal version! Thanks for sharing. Steve
tyanacek Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Here is another zinc FLL that I just found at the most recent MAX Show. Best regards, Tom
Karsten S Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 Here is my FLL AG, which is not seen that often. Cheers Karsten

Jan Arne S Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Hi Guys ! Great ROAG`s . Karsten is the second one a cupal ? Jan Arne
Karsten S Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 (edited) Hi Guys ! Great ROAG`s . Karsten is the second one a cupal ? Jan Arne Hi Jan It is most likely copper coated. I don´t think it is solid copper. In the meantime I have managed to secure it for my collection @Eric that is a sweet zincer in the best condition. It has the age look to it, but is still in remarkable condition with highpolish. Karsten Edited May 1, 2010 by Karsten S
ERIC Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Thanks Karsten! Does your cupal example have an aluminum eagle? Looks to be by the rivits and would explain its light weight. ERIC

ERIC Hi Eric Great to find a soul-mate of these ROAG and AG´s It has been a while since I had this bugger in the hand, but my memory is clearing. The eagle and wreath is aluminum with a copper coating on the wreath. The entire badge weights only 13,5 gram. Cheers Karsten
ERIC Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Hi Eric Great to find a soul-mate of these ROAG and AG´s Ditto! There are so few of us around! Hey K, regarding the FLL's - ever seen or heard about one of their buntmetal wreath ROAGs WITHOUT an aluminum or aluminum/cupal combination eagle? Every FLL ROAG example with a buntmetal wreath that I've come across has an aluminum eagle. Same goes for their Observer Badge - always seems to be buntmetal wreath/aluminum eagle combination! ERIC
