yes, that seems to be true - here my picture of such a ceremony. A General gave EK2 to his soldiers somewhere in france or belgium, and it look like paper-"bags" for the awards..

there actually some nice paper envelopes for EK 2's.

the one in The Iron Time is actually in my possession.

i've not seen another, so i suspect they were rather uncommon.

there are also images where one can see these packets scattered all over the ground during the award event. i've wondered what the protocol was and how they decided to disburse them. was it merely dependent on the day's schedule or how far behind they were on time? or was it dictated by quantity of awardess or even after a particularly important victory?

I have seen EK2s wrapped in a blue heavy paper. Haven't picked one up yet but I think many here have seen these examples, often stamped with a maker's mark. I guess there could have been similar ones in brown paper. These are much heavier than tissue paper however.

I think this is the presentation of the EKI, as the soldiers all seem to have the ribbon of the EKII.

And looks like the award being presented still has its outer carton.

... or it is the folded certificate (on the top of the case).
