JapanX Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 By the way guys, this 11th Army Badge has at least two variations by reverse inscription Var. 1
JapanX Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Badge is in exellent shape! All "silver" is still on reverse
DavidS Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Oops. Here's what I meant to say Another addition to the familiy
JapanX Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 This one looks familiar (posts # 457-459) Very nice mini-variation! Congrats!
kaguyahime Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 It will be interesing to note that type 4 badges in both classes have two variations of enamel colour. Here it is. Well known fact, that some of type 4 badges were made from alloy, not silver. Is there any sign or possibility to determine the metal visually if not to examine it? Thanks!
kaguyahime Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Is there japanese badge(s), not presented in this topic, with image of wound badge of any type?
JapanX Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 Is there japanese badge(s), not presented in this topic, with image of wound badge of any type? Of course! Hopefully (with the lapse of time) these badges will be added to our gallery
JapanX Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 Well known fact ... Not to me To Peterson maybe... Indeed he wrote (p.87, 3rd edition) that "badges struck late in war are made of a cheaper alloy". Personally I've never seen these badges and don't know anyone who does. But one thing I know for a fact - badges that were issued "late in war" (I hope date January 20, 1945 will sound late enough) were struck in silver. Tell you the truth I don't know where James got this info ...
