Correct, it's an "Adler der Inhaber des (Königlichen) Hausordens von Hohenzollern", an award mostly given to teachers and such for long and good service.

About 11,000 awarded according to Ludvigsen statistics. Possible additions for these eagles are jubilee numbers ("50" or "60"), but no swords, bows, crowns or anything else.

I don't know by whom this is done (automatically?) but this thread is tagged wrongly with "HOHENZOLLERN" - it should read "PRUSSIA" instead, as this is a royal Prussian award.

I fixed the spelling of the topic title and changed the tag.

Guys, I'm curious where this little 16mm mini fits in the equation.

Well Peter J, what you have there is a nice little mini to the above decoration.

Of course, you realize that it is on an incorrect ribbon, but what, to me, is more important is it's

plain reverse with the Godet mark. Never seen one like this before - very nice!

Thanks WC, I knew I could count on you. Just like Dean, I incorrectly assumed it was related to Hohenzollern, but couldn't figure out the lack of rectangles on the chest.

The lack of a Hohenzollern crest is curious, to say the least. Without it, all we have is a basic Prussian eagle. What purpose does it serve, other than a simple patriotic “pin” of some sort? As I said, I’ve never seen one like this before; and marked, as it is, to Godet... strange, for sure.

I guess I'm back on square 1 again. The question is, if indeed a patriotic item, how was it most like worn, on a neck-chain? A brachelet would most likely ruin this fine enamel work in a everyday like.
