    Hello Marrauder;

    Let me start by saying, what a nice little buttonhole piece you have. The two EK devices on the front do a great job of indicating both the EK2 and EK1 awarding. The first ribbon being the EK2, the second is S-C-G...but you knew that already.

    The third ribbon....Not a match for the Schwarzburg award, the Austrian Order of the Crown, or the Swedish Order of the Sword.

    Hmmmmm, it does kinda match the British War Medal....but that doesn't make sense (and it's missing a black stripe).

    Hello Claudius,

    Thanks for kind words. Godet buttonbacks are my weakness. I bought this one in bargain price together with another buttonback and with the story, that they both belonged to one man. It is interesting to see two buttonbacks from the same maker and era having different style of EK minis used. Left one has got pearl beading, right one line beading.

    So, for me it is nice combo with one mystery. Looking forward to see it disclosed.

    Reverses.

    Hello, Dean. Thanks for reply, but as I see, the Schwarzburg award doesn´t have white stripe as is on my ribbon. Also the blue colour on the buttonback is dark blue, close to blue - purple. Regards.

    Hallo Marrauder;

    I can understand your affinity for the Godet buttonbacks -nice looking pieces. You are very correct...it is interesting to see the two buttonbacks, from the same maker, same period, but with slightly different styles. I don't know why.

    I can't help thinking how nice his medal bar would have looked with these three awards. I would like to have that one in the collection. That is, of course, if he had a medal bar made with the awards.

    I'm glad the last ribbon was identified.

    Thanks again for your attention, guys.

    I understand your thoughts, Claudius, it must be a very nice piece. I believe it - or very similar like this - does exist. Maybe we can divert this thread to the theme: Show your german medal bars with orange nassau included.

    I´ve found this one on the web
