danio
Hi All, This is an order of red star (#608216) made by Germany for their spies. Could anyone give me some extra links about this order please. English version would be great! Any other stories about awarding red star in WW2 are welcome. Thank you all very much. NavyFCO
It's quite odd...why would they go through all the effort to create it with the maker mark and serial number? The Germans had access to thousands of originals...
Chuck In Oregon
My thoughts exactly. Why bother?

Ferdinand
Strekalov and Durov's book about the Order of the Red Star (Orden Krasnoi Zvezdy: Istoria uchrezhdenia nagrady I evolyutsia ordenskogo znaka. Kavalery ordena, 2008) has some information and a few great pictures about these German-made Red Star copies, but it's in Russian of course. JapanX
During war Abver manufactured for its agents orders of Lenin, RS, medals "For Bravery", "For Military Merit", "For the Defence of Stalingrad". Most likely this is not the full list. In July 1944 SMERSH even issued special brochure "Материалы по распознаванию поддельных орденов и медалей СССР ..." This is how illustration from this brochure looks like
JapanX
Order of Lenin was manufactured in gilded silver. RS in silvered alloy.
