ccj Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I just received a wonderful French General's sword. Complete with the hanger and the sword knot.
ccj Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Thank you I was hopeful others would post French General's items. I have a great passion for France in WW1.
Michael Johnson Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Not as ornate, but with special meaning for me. The sword of Capitaine Marcel Verzieux, my great-uncle, Legion of Honour and Croix de Guerre (awarded for Verdun).
Paul R Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 You should be very proud of it. Did all officers use the same style of sword?

This one is the 1882 Infantry Officer's Pattern, from the Chatellerault factory https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Châtellerault and is dated 1904. Michael
