Kriegsmarine Admiral Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Please help me ID the awards of this Vizeadmiral. What I have so far: 1914 EK II Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer Südwestafrika Denkmünze China Denkmünze Preußisches Dienstauszeichnungskreuz Finn. Freiheitskreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern ??? Erinnerungsmedaille des "Finnischen Freiheitskrieges" 1918 mit Spange ??? It is possible the 2 unknown awards are foreign. Thanks.
webr55 Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Here is another, earlier pic of Wülfing with his medal bar. It seems he changed the precedence of his awards. The one behind the "Finn. Freiheitskreuz 2. Kl." on the ribbon bar above (the one with the lighter color) is in last position on his medal bar. I believe this is the Finnische Tapferkeitsmedaille.
laurentius Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 (edited) Dear fellow collectors I think the second medal is not the hindenburgcross because I only see black and white stripes, and not any red stripes, something one would see with a FEK. I think rather a HOHx or a KOx or a PRAOx from the colonies. This is possible, since the Vizeadmiral has the DSWA-medal. webr55 Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 The red stripe is hard to make out, but it is there. The Hindenburg Cross can also be seen on this later picture of him:

I believe this is the Finnische Tapferkeitsmedaille. I agree it could well be the Finnische Tapferkeitsmedaille. In Silber right? That would make the awards from his medal bar on this photo as following: -1914 EK II -Preußisches Dienstauszeichnungskreuz -China Denkmünze -Südwestafrika Denkmünze -Finn. Freiheitskreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern -Erinnerungsmedaille des "Finnischen Freiheitskrieges" 1918 mit Spange -Finnische Tapferkeitsmedaille in Silber Also, no Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer on this photo because it is pre 1934. The last ribbon could be the Grand Cross of the Spanish Order of Naval Merit with White Decoration, seen on the last photo you posted. Edited November 12, 2017 by Kriegsmarine Admiral
webr55 Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Yes exactly. And the last ribbon might indeed be the Spanish Merito Naval, worn on his ribbon bar.

Could you post a photo of the medal so we can compare?
webr55 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 It looks like the silver medal, yes. The one second to last on this bar, which belongs to a forum member (I think):

Can we now confirm 100% the last two medals are Erinnerungsmedaille des "Finnischen Freiheitskrieges" 1918 mit Spange and Finnische Tapferkeitsmedaille in Silber?
Antonio Prieto Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 (edited) By royal order of November 16, 1928, the King of Spain has been pleased to grant the decorations that are expressed at the head of each one, for the attentions received by Kiel on the occasion of the last trip to Sweden: Grand Cross of Naval Merit, with white badge, to Vice Admirals Mr. Oldekop and Raeder and Rear Admiral Mr. Wulfingv.
