I assume this man is a firefighter, but I may be wrong. GreyC I wouldn't say so, as the lower end of the twisted cord seems to be fastened firmly to the interior portion of the breast pocket button, while the upper one is stitched or attached somehow else to the inner part of the blouse button... Not the Grune Fangschnur if that's what you mean. That went under the epaulette at the shoulder and under the arm.
