Fritz die Spinne Posted June 15, 2019 Share Posted June 15, 2019 Combination of several things--the seller did not pack it well, and there are customers who ship heavy boxes in UPS, and do not properly label those heavy boxes. We had thousands of dollars of product destroyed, and later learned one shipper was mailing 35-40 kg parcels and not labelling them. UPS separates those heavy boxes, to keep from damaging things in their conveyor systems. Sorry about this beautiful helmet. It will still display nicely. Eric Stahlhut Posted July 27, 2019 Share Posted July 27, 2019 (edited) if you file a damage claim with UPS they will want the damaged box the item was shipped in as well as the pickelhaube. they'll pay the claim but they will keep the pickelhaube. Bayern Posted July 28, 2019 Share Posted July 28, 2019 Hello , the pickelhaube is a nice piece , apart from the splintering i dont see other damage , Stahlhut says that if you file a claim they will pay you but they have reatain the pickelhaube . better ask to some specialist about how to restore the lack , that of the helm must be some kind of nitrocellulose based .of the same type of the one used to coat hand made guitars Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
