Photo with unknown breast star

Hi all,
Can anyone identify the breast star that this Luftwaffe Major is wearing?
I have searched online but couldn't find it...

Possibly the China Republican Order of the Striped Tiger.

Not sure what it could be. I'm not sure it is the Chinese one as the one being worn seems to have 10 points whereas the Chinese one has 8 and the tiger seems to be taking up a lot of space in the center whereas it doesn't seem that way in the photo. Maybe another Chinese award - or from another country.

No, this is definitely not а Striped Tiger.

Most likely he has higher class (breast star) of this award from the ministry of communications.

He got it during his service in China somewhere around 30s  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sino-German_cooperation_(1926–1941)
