saschaw Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 (edited) In exactly a month from now, the doors for the 42nd International Collectors' Convention at Gunzenhausen will open. The show is considered Germany's No. 1 and one of the best in Europe, if you're going for orders and decorations. I will be having a table as well, of course, and would look forward to meet some of you fellow Gentlemen again. Check here for the organizers' additional information, e. g. some requirements due to the current pandemic. Also, please watch out for further announcements. We are all hoping the best, but other shows have been already been canceled. In case that should happen to "Gunze" as well, I'll add the information to this thread as soon as possible... GdC26 Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Thanks Sascha. Corona volente I'm hoping to be there. Best, Sandro
Paul C Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 I wish I could go even though I am not collecting anymore. I always had a great time in Gunzenhausen meeting old friends and great food.
BlackcowboyBS Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Well I will be attending and will bring some sets of my book upon the orders and medals of the duchy of Brunswick with me. So People who might be interested in purchasing it, could have a look into and buy it!
1812 Overture Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 I only pray that you can show me the pictures of the scene
Elmar Lang Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 Hello, I will have my table in Gunzenhausen as well, and I'll be glad to shake hands (is that still authorized?) or just say hello to fellow collectors. Let's hope that everything would go smoothly with this epidemic... All the best, Enzo (E.L.)
Elmar Lang Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 Hello, I have to give an update: sorry to say, I've just received news from the Gunzenhausen's show's organization, that the event was cancelled, due to the current, sanitary situation. Let's hope that things would improve soon... All the best, Enzo (E.L.)
Elmar Lang Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Hello, the world is strange... this morning a german colleague, collector of orders and decorations, called me informing that the Gunzenhausen show is taking place, although with less exhibitors: does anyone know more about this curious thing?
BlackcowboyBS Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 Hi Elmar, the show was cancelled and there was defenitly no show in Gunzenhausen. But there was a non public and privatley held convention of the BHMA. About 60 to 80 people were there and after 5 hours all was over. We all hope that next year Gunzenhausen will happen again with all of us. kind regards Stephan
1812 Overture Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 I want to see the pictures of the medals at the scene. Have you taken photos? 23 hours ago, BlackcowboyBS said: Hi Elmar, the show was cancelled and there was defenitly no show in Gunzenhausen. saschaw Posted June 15, 2022 Author Posted June 15, 2022 Good news, Gentlemen! In this year, the Gunzenhausen show will finally take place again, as a regular event open to the public! I received the organizer's invitation a few days ago, and have as well seen a promotion in the recent DGO magazine! 1
