Paul R Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 He is my only example, which is part of a grouping. IMHO, this is the most detailed and beautiful order of the Soviet time frame.

Guest Darrell Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 (edited) Also (as many are aware) the pendant is made from 4 different pieces all held together with rivets. Edited April 26, 2006 by Darrell
Paul R Posted April 26, 2006 Author Posted April 26, 2006 Thanks guys! I love these threads!!! Darrell, nice low number on yours !!! What is the award date?PaulRiley,Thanks for your compliments!! If you are going to get one, get one now.... I am suprised at the rate these things are going up!!! There are some that I wish I had bought... but will now never be able to afford...(Alexander Nevski Orders were going for 400 dollars... I turned them down because I was after quantity at the time... I was 21 years of age. Go figure!).

Guest Alanirvine Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 [attachmentid=36494]Reverse of the Friendship.I think that I bought this one at a flea market in the Ulkraine a few years ago.Alan

Ed_Haynes Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 My only example (I am holding out for a nice documented single or documented group where the international "link" is clear -- talk about being picky!) is the one in that problem child of a "group-that-probably-isn't-a-group" that pops up everywhere.#10705See: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2456
Paul R Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 One of the most interesting Afgan bars I have seen. I love it Ed!!!
Alfred Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Hello,I noticed an interesting detail. I always thought, that original orders have these little noses at the corn ear.Are there two versions?regardsAndreas
Paul R Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 That is a very interesting observation! I will have to check mine when I get home. How do the reverse sides to these two medals compare? (rivets and etc).
Guest Alanirvine Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Paul R.The order number for my Friendship is: 35,463.Alanirvine
Guest Darrell Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Hello,I noticed an interesting detail. You can tell by the reverse set up on the ones above.
order_of_victory Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Mine is seriel number 32717 and the order book states it was awarded on 02/06/1983.
Dolf Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 One of the most complex designs on Soviet Orders indeed! Here is mine, S/N 5099. Any idea of a possible date of issue?According to Shishkov & Muzalevsky, # 4555 would date from 1979, then they jump to # 6405-21172, from 1981. Should I conclude that mine is from 1980?Obverse.Dolf
