stevo4361 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Hey guys, Just got this one in the mail, Oldenburg FA Cross 1st Class. It is magnetic, with a slight vault to it, and I think it has the correct dished out reverse and pin and catch, for a wartime awarded cross? Would appreciate your guys opinion on this one, thanks!Kind Regards,Steve[attachmentid=37065]
HeikoGrusdat Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 wonderfull authentic piece - I love these...
Guest Rick Research Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I think these indented hubcap reverses are nicer than the smooth backed ones.
stevo4361 Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 (edited) Thanks Heiko and Rick! Steve Edited April 29, 2006 by stevo4361
stevo4361 Posted April 30, 2006 Author Posted April 30, 2006 Thanks dond, yours is a beauty, thanks for showing it! I really like these FA crosses for some reason, something about 'em, a heavy award of iron! If anyone else has some to share, 1 or 2 class, would love to see them! Or a "Vor Dem Fiende" bar! Kind Regards,Steve

Mike K Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Hi Steve,My little collection; The top two are imo wartime - one vaulted with strongly dished back, the other only vaulted - both are steel.Bottom left is a zinc screwback (same obverse design as the vaulted wartime example) and the bottom right example is tombak/bronze - probably 20s/30s with the classic folded over hinge. Pity about the replaced pin on the Prinzen!!RegardsMike
