Ulsterman Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 (edited) My lowly little bar.Nice and early...note colour of ribbon:oops no space... Edited July 15, 2005 by Ulsterman
Stogieman Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Another nice one! This was one of my favorites... the Silesian Eagle was drop-dead gorgeous!
Stogieman Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Like the WW1 NC EK2.... a mounted piece is so much better than loose on the ribbon. You know it was really awarded and really worn!
Bob Hunter Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Really, Rick? I thought these were an awesome pair. We all look up to you moderators...
don Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 Can we have a look at the backs Gordon? You too Bob don
Craig Goodwin Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Great bars guys - I only have two because I wanted them from my long service collection but wehen I got then I appreciated them a lot more than just for the LS awardsJason - very nice mate - good to see a fellow Aussie with good taste !!!Craig
Stogieman Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Hi Gordon, 2 rare and wonderful bars. I have found that the combination of German & "foreign" awards is very appealing to me......... I like your Finn bar very much!
Gordon Williamson Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 This Finnish Cross is very well made, in real silver gilt. The eye for the suspenion has three markings. One I can't quite make out, one a crown and the other this - a silver content mark I believe.
George Stimson Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 One of my favorites, with a mounted Memel medal.
George Stimson Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Here's one a dealer sent me by mistake. I decided to keep it!
George Stimson Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Another four-place bar, this one with a Schinkel EK!
George Stimson Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 And this one, recently acquired but already a favorite.
Bob Hunter Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 (edited) Very nice bars, George! Gordon, your pair are magnificent! A mounted Danzig Cross 2nd Class is a rare bird.I'm just a sucker for enamel anywhere on a medal bar. Edited July 31, 2005 by Bob Hunter
Guest Rick Research Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=468&...indpost&p=12764GTordon: "813H" is indeed the silver content mark, the "crown" is probably the Helsinki city mark (a canoe-like boat) and the one you can't quite read...is the YEAR DATE mark.Care to try that one again?
Guest Darrell Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Well I do have 1 minute Imperial group ... been a personal favorite of mine for a long time ...
