For more details about the Imperial German lifesavingmedals you can have a look in my book:

Friedhelm Beyrei?

Ehrenzeichen deutscher Staaten f?r die Rettung von Menschenleben

Norderstedt 2006

You will find there nearly all informations about these decorations.

Hello Kapitular:

A warm welcome to you! Thank you for joining us. It is nice to have you aboard. I'm certain that we will have many questions in the future that you can assist the membership in answering. Also, thank you for pointing out your excellent book regarding lifesaving medals to the membership here (For all of you who do not have this book it is a "MUST HAVE" addition to the library of any Imperial German medal collector).

My first Saxon Lifesaving medal ribbonbar :jumping::jumping:

I will post better pic when I get it, I just have a question

The second award I took as a Brunswick BUT :speechless1: is there any possibility that it is a Saxon-Altenburg Merit Cross without swords ?

Have a nice weekend all and my lots of Imperial awards fall on you (old local saying in Sweden)

The Saxon Lifesaving medal had a white ribbon? I have never seen one of those before! Anyone have one?

I'm not entirely sure whether that IS a Saxon Lifesaving Medal in 4th place since there seems to be a ghost of robin's egg blue remaining at the top of the back, and the Albert's green is similarly faaaaaaded away.

But (after extreme effort) that one gave up its owner due to the unique combination of Saxon and Meiningen awards:

Lucky for me I did the Meiningen rolls. :catjava:

I will have to break down and buy your book. Is it illustrated? I cannot believe that you were able to find ALL three versions!

The saxon pieces were not named. only the early one of Braunschweig and the pieces of Hannover and Oldenburg.

The book can be bought by:

Amazing collection, Kapitular!

Were any of these named?

Where is the best place to buy your book (it's been on my list for a long time...)?

/Mike
