Portuguese Victory Medals
lambert replied to Tim B's topic in Inter-Allied Victory Medals of the Great War
Hello Orynx Supposedly was produced by Sculptor himself in his workshop. This medal was the target of a lot of discussion, because João was in Paris and the contest was not respected. Therefore, a first issue came out, thousands of medals unsigned , and later, João da Silva called for the issue of his medal he had won the contest. The Interior Ministry, after some debate, accepted the situation and there was the issue of the medal, with signature. I do not have a set number of how many medals João da Silva produced, but is not great , but we do not know. Some fellow Portugal would add more? Best Regards Lambert -

Cuban Victory Medals

Hello Bil, Exactly! Do not have the manufacturer's or sculptor's signature brand. This leads us to an unofficial copy (Made in Cuba) probably in the 1930s Rob posted a very similar example page 1 -. # 2. I think this is a copy of the Cuban medals that same manufacturer. Lambert -

Hello Rob, I looked around the rim without removing the Ribbon, but no other brand, just "MADE IN FRANCE" on the edge of the medal. This is not good? Regards Lambert -

All I realized this today by mail. A "copy", "MADE IN FRANCE" U.S Vic That auction was here in Brazil, was bought by a well agreeable price. -
