oh and these to have a nice story! i picks the 1st up about 6/7 years ago for 2 pounds and then about 4 years ago another collector mate goes oh her iv got some russian pics iv had for years if you want em and get them to me!in amonst them was the other pick!!not bad for nowt!!!

well i posted this on another forum but ithought you guys might like to see it to!! with help from a memeber over at WAF i got this off the national archives! the place in sidi bachillah from what i can find is in north moracca During the Coy attack on Sidi Bchillah on the 29th April 1943 2/lt edmundson was i/o of one of the leading platoons. The Coy cmdr was injured early in the advance and had to retire and the second i/c was killed just before the objective was reached. 2/lt edumdson, the junior officer left in charge and although wounded in the shoulder immediately took over command of the Coy, and in the face of intense grenade and M/G fire, led the Coy and captured the position. He shot at least 2 German bombing other trenches has he passed them. He had to be prevented from going over the top in the face of intense M/G fire in order to grenade further enemy positions on the reverse slope. He then organized the position against counter attacks and was throughout the day that followed amongst his men, cheering and inspiring them with his bravery and calm. He refused to be relived until nightfall although getting weak from loss of blood. He was throughout the action calm and cheerful giving confidence to his men and his example of devotion to duty and gallantry inspired the men to go forward when others would have fallen back. I strongly recommend this officer for the award of the military cross now im going to see if i can find out more about his military career and get a display of his medals and picture together! all good!

nd the other one! i can see at aleast 1 hero of the soviet union 2 screw back lenins, 3 screw back order of the red banners and 3 pw on early suspensions!!not bad for a 5 pounds for both of em!!

fair enough! i guess its like the lufty close combat clasps and the navy air sea rescue badge! probably never issued but they (well the lufty close combat clasp at least!) were seen in the solbuchs etc though id love to see pics of the balloon observer badge in wear as that would clear up alot of debate on weather it actully excistes or not!! still i do like this badge as it looks pretty cool!!

well the numbered GABs were nevered issued war time so this is just like the ballon observers badges! also as they were never issued there would be no reason for a 57 version of it!just me 2 euros cents!

well i DID pick up my combat for about E70 so not to bad! cool i guess i can still afford one!! i really like these early ones because from what iv heard they wernet give out like the mass awardings after the major victorys started to happen they were hard one(not that the later ones wernt its just that before the victorys started you had to do ALOT to get them!!)

how much are these going for nowadays as i want to get a early bravery to go with my early combat(which il post later!)
