Hello, after a long dry periode I was able to get my hands on this A Waldeck Non-Com-Bar with Verdienstkreuz 4. class and Friedrich-Bathildis-Medal. The FB medal is a so called "Spangenst?ck" with Ring-suspension and without maker`s mark. The awarded pieces look like the one above shown by Pinpon or my own (see number 66 in this thread).

Two German soldiers and five children were killed in a suicide bombing near the northern Afghan city of Kunduz on Monday. Two German soldiers were also wounded and two children who were playing nearby, Provincial governor Mohammad Omar said. "The blast took place on a main road. This is the work of terrorists. We have arrested two suspects in relation to the incident," he said. The governor said the attacker on a bicycle blew himself up next to a German army convoy in the Chardara district, five kilometers south of Kunduz city. The Taliban took responsibility for the attack in a statement posted on its website, saying one of its fighters, identified only as Islamuddin, carried out the attack. German soldiers have held a memorial service in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz for two Bundeswehr servicemen who were killed in a suicide bombing on Monday. The coffins were later flown to a military air base in Uzbekistan. They are expected to be flown back to their unit in Zweibruecken in Germany's southwest on Wednesday evening. The two 22 and 25 years old soldiers were also members of the Para Bataillon 263. May they rest in peace ! greetings eitze

The order of precedence is: - Liberation Decoration - Liberation Medal - Independence Medal. I`ve got a small booklet "Zimbabwean Honours and Awards 1981" greetings eitze

A German soldier was killed Wednesday, Aug. 27, in a roadside bombing in northern Afghanistan while three others were injured. The German Defense Ministry in Berlin confirmed the casualties, calling the attack "cowardly and underhanded." Defense Minister Franz Josef Jung acknowledged a deteriorating security situation in northern Afghanistan, where German forces are leading reconstruction operations. A remote-controlled bomb was used to attack an armored vehicle of the German army in the district of Chardara in Kunduz province, Governor Engineer Mohammed Omar said earlier. He blamed Taliban militants and the al-Qaeda terrorist network for the attack. The wounded soldiers were treated by medics from their unit before being transported to the largest German base in the country in Mazar-e Sharif. The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) also confirmed the death of its soldier. "Our deepest sympathies are with the soldier's family and friends as they deal with their loss," Brigadier-General Richard Blanchette, an ISAF spokesperson, said in a statement. All four soldiers were members of the Para Bataillon 263. The killed Sergeant-Major was posthum awarded the German Campaign Medal and the ISAF-Medal of the Nato. On the left you can see German MoD Dr. Franz-Josef Jung at the farewll service in Zweibr?cken/Germany. greetings eitze
