Very nice indeed. How easy /difficult is it to find one of the buttonhole ribbons with crown and sword? I have a tunic to a Hauptmann who had one which i would like to add. How does one know with 100% that they are the "right" crown and sword... or would any of them do?

Hi, Do you know how much detail was in the stuff he saw? I guess there are bits and pieces all over, but I am hoping for the really down and dirty nuts and bolts stuff... apparently in the Prussian Secret archives in Berlin there is the mother load, but it has been picked by authors/researchers for some time... and still I see no answers to info like this. Maybe the new german book coming out has some info. -
it is very, very possible that whoever buys it splits it the next day :-( I once turned down two offers on one of my favourite groups... finally a collector in Italy bought it... ohhhh how he was going to respect and cherish it .... 6 moths later it was sold by a german dealer, half the groups awards had been exchanged by others, the only original photo of the guy exchanged for a bunch of others.... I guess its like raising a kid... you can hope all goes well... but once they leave home.....

Added to the above.... the men who got the award on the years before the formal award documents were handed out.... were their awards just recorded in the militärpass and regiment? I have yet to see some kind of preliminary or interim award document Best Chris -
