    1. I guess it is someone collecting Turkish stuff. I.e. going for a Turkish bar with a Foreign German medal... as opposed to going for a German bar with a foreign Turkish medal.
    2. This guy fought.... then was suddenly sent home and released..... Can anyone make head or tail of this? Thanks Chris
    3. "Zerschossener Unterstand bei XXXXX Flandern" ? how am I doing?
    4. As I dig them out I will share some pics from the wifes grandfather (no really exciting ones) He was the Flotillen doctor at La Rochelle.
    5. Well, I did it. After longing to order the research (Over expensive IMHO) of two Russian Orders of Glory.... waiting...waiting....waiting...paying... getting.... putting aside.... Now solidly for two days I have been trying to find the research..... ...and its not there!!!! I must have tossed it with a pile of paper. Damnation!!!!! My Russian collecting sideline is over. I am going to clip of the ring and play Kung fu throwing stars with these and never buy anything like these again :-( Should teach me not to get outside interests.
    6. Hi, does anyone have any thoughts to the ribbon ribbon? Something other than a white ribboned EK? Was thinking about Pauls doc. Am convinced there is "something in his past" that would clear this up. best Chris
    7. We picked up any doc guys since March ?? :-)
    8. Odditys are great talking points. 200 EK2s is a good collection, but rather monotonous if there is no variation or "little thingies" to accompany them.
    9. Hi... Anyone had time to look :-)
    10. A silly question.... why does it specify he was awarded the cloth badge? Is it a lower qualification or could he wear a metal one if he found one?
    11. for members of the 77th Machine Gun Sharpshooter Abteilung. After 4 years of war, a 1day march back home... The unit arrives back in the courtyard... the war is lost... I was happy to pick up this card/Photo on Ebay...
    12. Hi guys, thanks for the photos, your efforts are appreciated. I have just finished an update to the page dealing with a bit of humanity in the war. Germans saving a Scotsman, Frenchmen saving a German etc. I hope to use all the pics with a few further updates. http://www.kaiserscross.com/76001/93001.html All the best Chris
    13. Hi, I have just finished an update to the page dealing with a bit of humanity in the war. Germans saving a Scotsman, Frenchmen saving a German etc. etc. There are some nice eyewitness accounts. The main page is linked to the stories. Hope they are of interest to those of you who are board at work and are surfing the net :-) http://www.kaiserscross.com/76001/93001.html All the best Chris
    14. Hi, theoretically it could be for a school kid, student association, patriotic item or for a stormtrooper.... Depends who the seller is ;-)
    15. Indeed. Its enough to make you want to collect documents ;-) I love paper and the possibilities you have with it.
    16. As the make up of the division was so eclectic.... its hard to even guess...
    17. Definitely not a standard issue item.... maybe used by anyone for anything.... I would stear clear unless it has a simple "Oddity" price.
    18. The jacket looks to be Austrian retailored for German use (The reall scalloped pockets)
    19. 152 IR fought on the Eastern front until Feb of 1917, mid 1917 in the Champagne, then off to Flanders. As this seems t be from October 1917 it is probably casualties at the Butte de Mesnil sector in the Champagne. listed as a quiet time for the Div.
