I lost site of my original reason for posting.... So, if Hitler was in the 3rd company, then my field spade actually belonged to a man in hitlers company !!! it may even have been borrowed by Hitler when he left the trench to go take a dump !!!

But i doubt there are 718 men in a company, even including wartime ersatz. I would bet one of these was not HIS... maybe both ?

Aye.... but sometimes they just confuse the issue, like a guy with bulgarian medlas who never served anywhere near there. I can imagine the somme or Verdun cross, or a verein medal withcombat bars etc helping chart the mans history... but , Bulgaran "buy ME`s" are just senseless padding.

What is the difference between some of these and the small messdress ones? And "sweetheart" brooch? Is that like the "I shagged a pilot and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt" version at that time....??

Well, it seems the rebels are advancing, and the french are doing nothing. In the past the French contingent has always stopped the rebels or the french airforce has blown then away... there must be a good reason for their silence now.... has the Tchadian PM made himself enemies in paris??, -

A silly question.. why is the 18 year service cross worn with the lower 4 year medal and not the 8 year one? and if the cross represents 18 years, why is a medal worn with it at all, as you see from the cross that the guy has 18 years. ?
