A difficult call..... I would say, at the end of the day there needs to be balance.... if we insist they dont have any errors, then the movie may become too expensive to make.... so as long as I see they have made an effort, and the stuff is "OK" at a glance with no howling errors... I am happy.
Some guys get overly nerdy "Did you see that??? Movie takes place in 1940... those chest eagles were only worn on the M44 jacket!!!"

" I have lost track at how many times I have told my wife that a pending purchase was a “once in a lifetime” find. I seem to have, she’s reflected on many occasions, more “lifetimes” than a cat. "

Hi,
when you figure that German stuff is mainly collected in Western countries... and the modern Generation is not really that interested in WW1 and WW2... you have to be a real Die Hard to think the stuff will hold its value over the next 20 years....
Added to that... the changing demographics in Western Europe and North America.... Lower caucasian birth rate and higher immigration, means that pretty rapidly the % of the population that has any connection to this stiff dwindels...
and anyone who does not see that has his head in the sand ;-)

I started out collecting Iron cross Documents... but there are simply too many... so i specialised on Infantry... still too many.... i am getting ready to cut away a loooot of dead wood, and at the end of the day, still dont know if i should collect ALL infantry... or just Active and reserve... tossing Landwehr, Landsturm etc....

I once asked someone to shill bid for me... foolish me...
It was not with the intent of raising the price... but simply to get some movement... I had a Victorian medal on EBAY... I had put in up with a starting price of EUR600.... day after day... no bid....
1 day before the end i thought "Bloody hell... this wont do... have to wake the people up"... and with some misguided logic asked a friend to bid EUR600... just so a first bid was in....
Well... he won it for EUR600 as only bid, I kept the medal, paid the Ebay fees for a EUR600 euro sale... and was wiser the next day.... ;-)

Really Chris ! We are talking about the Met. Police - not the South African Police. They had it pointed
out that their actions could easily have had them arrested. They were in fact only given a Caution.
Our drill instructors used to point things out, punctuated with slaps or an "Atomic Clack!"... usually worked... :-)

"The yobs got a quick lesson in having respect for their local Police -" you mean they were beaten and kicked until they could no longer walk? :-)

I use my pic as I am the lord of the rings :-)
As far as names go, some guys are justifiably careful.... there have been numerous break ins up to and including murder to steal collections.
If you are named "John Smith" and live in a big metropolis, no worries, but for the rest, it pays to be careful
