    1. Well, not Luftwaffe, but another example of the orange-tinged early ribbon. Note the Silesian Eagle, Second Class.
    2. Any progress in finding the thief? There's a bar thart just appeared in the UK.. 1870 EK2 w. Jubilee, ends in a Sax Ernestine House Order RK, peacetime... China NonCombattant plus others. Sound familiar?
    3. The (Truly) Evil Twin? (Rick Research) has a good memory... here's the photo I had in my Saint Henry Collection:
    4. St. Henry Order, Ritterkreuz Saxon Merit Order, w. Swords (Assume 1. kl.) Prussian EK2 unsure unsure unsure unsure
    5. Yep, I went back and looked. They appear to have passed through another dealer's hands before they arrived at their current repository. Have you contacted the original seller to see what else might be available??
    6. ... which is still one of the best Imperial references of all time. I wish there was a way to contact the author and get permission to reproduce the marks on-line. The book has become darn-near impossible to find. I passed my copy forward quite a few years back as my source had a couple dozen copies.... only to find them all gone!
    7. My apologies Ed, I certainly didn't mean the comment as an indictment, only as an observation. I had been asked if this group had come from me from a third party and having looked quickly said no as the bar looked like a one-piece. (One of these days you have to teach me how to do that, i have so far been unable to duplicate your efforts!) In any event, I think we can all agree that Ed is a fastidious, conscientious preserver of the history he watches over.
    8. When I first started following this, I did not realize it was a group that originated from me. The medal bar threw me as the medals were loose when I had them. I'll be very interested to see how it turns out. The group originally came from the Admin of the Soviet Awards Forum!
    9. Interestingly enough... several similar were posted on our sales forum at a fraction of the prices now being asked.
    10. Nice. Expect much noise when my evil twin finds this. very nice indeed!
    11. PS, about the third or fourth time he has listed these for sale, on a variety of auction sites in both Europe and the US, with no takers. I would agree, the full-size badge is about $900, actually a bit higher to me as this maker is tough to find.... but the Prinzen? As a seller of these, I can assure you i have never found anyone will ing to pay $900 for a Prinzen pilot by any maker...
    12. Hi John, rare maker, or not... a lack of collector demand will keep the price of these badges lower than Juncker. The real issue is the Prinzen piece. Collectors, for a variety of reasons, appear to fail to place a premium value on a premium, rare piece...
    13. The part of this that I found potentially interesting was that if someone has better eyes/software.... we might be able to enlarge the documents and get award dates for the 2 S/B Mongolian pieces??
    14. on eBay right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=170063748938 I cannot comment on authenticity, but it looks very interesting. Note the "bottom/foreign" medal bar with DDR, Bulgarian, Mongolian, etc. all mounted on what sure looks like the same unrelated ribbon (???). If someone has better eyes than me, the two S/B award numbers/award dates can be added to our lists.
