    1. Fabulous Cross & Case, Fabulous foto and I am glad you won. Now that I know your "handle" we will probably not "bump-heads" nearly as much!!
    2. Always interesting IMO to see the Saxon who kept the pre-'35 precedence to his awards, post-'35!
    3. I don't know Chuck, just struck me as odd that the 2 pieces are viewed suddenly when I can't think of the last time I've seen one. Based on what George said, my guess would be that they are BOTH good!??!
    4. Interesting discussion. I was advised to steer clear of civil pieces and civil groups..... But having a HSL is a more obtainable goal right now than a HSU.
    5. Nice scans Ed... any date in the "newer" variation? I have not even seen one of these that late yet!!!? Asked and asked, nothing forthcoming.
    6. Amother nice Saxon Bar. This bar, as well as the previous one, were NCO's bumped up to officer during the war and decorated again!
    7. Still one of the more famous Saxon Medal Bars.... this one was seen in "The Iron Time" by Stephen Previtera
    8. Another Saxon AOR, this one RK1X, again a Scharffenberg....... many people mistakenly take the "S" as "silber", when it is actually for Scharffenberg. You will find multiple variations of their maker marks from a simple "S" to a full blown "Scharffenberg/Dresden mark spread out on the bottom of both arms!
    9. Hi Darrel, I think it's like anything else... very limited supply and relatively high demand... I'd like to have one of these but I am resistant at the current price levels...
    10. Wow Ed, pretty special document! Alexei has 2 or 3 of these medals available still at a pretty reasonable price.
    11. No documents? name?? In the absence of anything else Saxon, this is pretty astounding!
    12. Wow Mark.... pretty handy work!
    13. While there is substantial interest in these artifacts, the allied pieces seem to usually bring substantially more. I think German is undervalued and Allied is over-valued... but that's just my opinion, for what it's worth. I would suspect over time we will see an equalization.... remember that interest will peak again in 2018.......
    14. Hi Chuck.... is there a possibility this is an aged repro? Just spotted an almost identical one on eBay this AM? http://cgi.ebay.com/Russian-Tzar-coronatio...1QQcmdZViewItem
    15. Notice the very odd 3-ring suspension of his "wearer's copy". One of the few socumented instances of the phrase.... Herr Engelhardt wore this piece and kept the issue one mint in the case!
