    1. Looks like a nice WW2 era award on the star. The collar disc set doesn't look like WW2 vintage though? Maybe later?
    2. If it was on the regular combattant ribbon...... we'd be having a very different discussion. It took Dave Danner to point out that it was a NC ribbon.... that's how common it is. After realizing david was right, I went back through all my archive photos and discs as well as all my notes and I cannot find a single instance of that ribbon being available for the last 8 years....... The different folds don't bother me, I think we're talking about a "home-made", 1920's bar here......
    3. Hi Heiko, yes I do think a Reserve Bavarian Officer can receive one S-M piece and nothing else from Bavaria... we see this many times. There's no shortage of Bavarians walking around with an EK2 and NOTHING from Bavaria!! Here's the thing for me...... I defy you to find a faker who has that Non-Combattant ribbon in his stock..........
    4. I'm sorry, I've been thinking about this one... Take the Hamburg Cross off and we have an entirely possible and actually logical combination with that NC Sax-Meiningen Ribbon...... with the Kyffhauser present we are talking the roaring twenties on this bar. I think you guys are over-thinking this one.......
    5. One of the seller's photos. I honestly think I was the first person to take the badge of the uniform in about 60 years.....
    6. Here's a "lightened" photo series of the badge. The disc is tiny... edges are striated, just like a US quarter or dime.
    7. Color tabs/rank insignia. Our Honored Employee was a Major.
    8. The uniform it was pinned to. Insert photo is from the inside of the tunic.
    9. I believe this to be a much earlier version than we have seen before. The serial number certainly is as is the construction style. There's 60 years plus of crud/dirt on this one.
    10. Hi Dan, I didn't realize they had re-issued these post '57. Very nice find and great presentation!
    11. So, did your friend get some land in the bestowal??
    12. Interesting....... your "early" 1939 Meybauer has the same pin/hinge/catch set-up as their WW1 crosses. Very interesting!
    13. Sorry, after that last incident where Rick R was found to be waving kittens over the subject and muttering in Frainch, backwards...... no such services are being held... Give in to the dark side and embrace your destiny..........
    14. Bronze one has a different ?se... probably both cases held zinc ones. Sweet find!
    15. Probably for a fraternal/societal membership. There's literally thousands of variations of this type of membership medal/badge and no way to know what was what other than the occassional piece that shows up with some type of document/membership card. As a society, the Germans were pretty fascinated with "awards".
    16. I would agree ca. 1820 for materials/thin edges. Paint looks really odd, redone??
    17. Seems like a logical conclusion. Kind of stinks that we'll never know beyond the shadow of a doubt... Still one of the neatest bars around!
    18. Now that's about one of the niftiest things I've seen in a month of Sundays!! Cool!
    19. Correct mounting precedence for an Austrian Awards group, post 1935 style. Correct pieces, but a little unusual with no LS Cross given the Jubilee Medal and WW1/2 service.... but I think it's ok anyway.
    20. Chris, the medal appears to be real, with the photos shown. The price is just about there for retail..... are you the bidder? If so, congrats. Another one that if you're lucky, we might see once or twice in a year!
    21. Beautiful badges Chris! Here's one of the technical/mechanic's aviation badges. But I suspect this one is a reproduction/fake!
