    1. Now..... compare this with the bar Ed Haynes bought: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtopic=4...indpost&p=66228 Same medal, 2 very different mounting styles and both seem to have worked quite well!
    2. Ed! Nice pair! Do not recall seeing them elsewhere here, or anywhere else other than the occassional eBay pop-up. Sweet!
    3. Hi Peter, I'm not sure which assumption you refer to? The authenticity as a whole, or the authenticity of the minis as individual pieces? Or perhaps something else? Sorry, not following well tonight...
    4. I saw and inquired on that one as well. His site hasn't been touched in forever and I have had zero responses to multiple inquiries about many things over the last year!
    5. Detlev had a gold one last year cased. Napoleonic era if I remember correctly. I think Ralph has a cased one too..... wondering about the different styles.....
    6. Quick & easy tip. The Prussian Hohenzollern House Order was a strictly officer's decoration. The 3 rd piece is the Anhalt Friedrich's Cross, Second Class.
    7. The thing that was especially nice with the Baden bar is the care that was used to mount it with its' original suspension intact... the awarded piece on the bravery ribbon as opposed to the more commonly encountered "spangen=stuch"
    8. It's always a bummer when you have a bar that needs a piece to complete it.... Bite the bullet & pay the freight, or wait for something "reasonable"... I've done both but I must say I am an "instant gratification" type of collector! ;>)
    9. Oh heck, here's the other side.... just for fun. I know somebody posted one cased, but I cannot find it!
    10. Anybody have a case for this puppy? Anyone with multiple examples that I can take alook at please? Thanks! Rick
    11. ...... of course, in retrospect that wouldn't have been such a bad thing as those "Penny Toys" would be worth many hundreds od Euros now..........
    12. Frugality prevails! Of course, in "The good old days"......... 12 Pfennings would have bought you 12 "Penny Toys" on the street for three years of Christmas Presents for your son/daughter.........
    13. Yep! Great Grandparents from Slovakia & Lithuania on one side....... pure Frainch Aristocrats on l'autre. You can still get the shirts on eBay..... but they have crept up in price. Cousin was over last summer and i was able to get her some time at our office near her.... received a fabulous bottle of Lithuanian Vodka as a gift. Cracked it last Fourth of July after all "responsible parties" had departed. Ever play "Contact Badminton"?? Bet you didn't know that bones can break and blood can flow.......... quite painlessly mind you from the vodka. There was about 1 finger in the bottom of the bottle and nobody would touch it after that initial fling with "destiny"....... It was quite a party. I of course was completely sober and did drive home everyone that night. Now THAT was many a fun ride........
    14. Well, I think you just struck the "10 Ring" Prosper..... I think the owner fully expected to push it on at a substantial sum of money. Pure speculation mind you. I stand by my original thought. A curiosity at best and not something I'd drop a lot of $$ on. However as a parts piece, the miniatures do all appear to be authentic 16mm (+/-) pieces and do have a certain amount of value even as loose pieces. But certainly no premium should be charged for this piece.
    15. Jacques.... I do not think your case was made before 1995........ You have the correct blue ones (no markings) right?? Green is almost the same. I have never liked these with the LDO on the lids. Yes, I do believe there are some authentic, period pieces...... but the bulk of what's on the market is bogus.
    16. Any other medals, etc. with these besides the Glories? Odd that he never replaced his missing piece!? Sorry about the pricing error...... going from memory on one cup of coffee this AM was a bad idea!
    17. PS. I cannot imagine a Prussian shorting himself a "war ribbon" in any instance or combination......
    18. Some very nice bars Andreas! Mark snatched up the Prussian one I had in my last sale.......
    19. I think that's only the second time I've seen a full-size device spanning 2 awards...... I would have thought the one eagle (large) to be a few more pfennings than the two eagles (small)???
    20. Lithuania Rules! Remember the Lithuanian National Basketball Team! I still have family in Vilnius!
    21. Interesting........ all from the last Thies Catalogue and quite fake. Interesting....
    22. Yep...... plated/gilded. Not painted. Excluding of course the Oldenburg VDF bar...
