    1. And the record page. Unfortunately, BOTH Red Stars were misplaced by the seller of the group. Who months later still could not produce the correct original pieces. I am still very pleased to have what's here.
    2. Order of the Red Banner #16,265 per Northwest Front decree 24.7.42 (with citation) His Red Banner screwback was for something (VERY horrid scribbly handwritten, alas) end of May 1942 around a place called Azotov, blowing up 4 somethings, 3 mortars, and 200 Germans as commander of the 1st Battalion (almost never seen an actual WHICH battalion or company!) of 826th Artillery Regiment, 282nd Rifles Division. Fairly typical of the early citations, text is...rather laconic and sparce.
    3. 4. Research is in on my "Mirror Back" ORB: Nedashkovsky, Ivan Kirillovich born 4 April 1911 village of Goraditsche, Andrushovsky Raion, Zhitomirsky Oblast Ukrainian, higher education. 5. All cases, boxes for this medal, whether the "Treue um Treue", or dated like this, are actually private-purchase items. The crosses were issued in wax (blue) paper bags, manila envelopes (occassionally a titled one shows up, but there is disagreement over authenticity) or a blue/brown packet with no title. Somewhere, probably on WAF, there's photos/scans of the actual advertisements to sell the cases.....
    6. Igor has posted up a couple and I think Alexei just updated with 2 very nice examples of this beautiful order.
    7. B/W/R one is typical veteran/patriotic ribbon used on literally dozens of things. Really "padding out" his awards. ;>)
    8. The piece sold for under 300- Euro. An absolute bargain with the Albert Cross with Swords easily worth that alone, as a loose piece. As a mounted group like this, I would have sold it for substantially more.....
    9. I did not recognize the high bidder and work constraints prevented me from snagging this one...... Hopefully one of our compatriots won this??
    10. Claudio is correct. Very different obverse and reverse. I'll post a couple of bigger photos shortly. Notice that it is paired with the Honor Cross, No swords.
    11. Yes, a very tasty and real NC bar, across the board. Not just a NC ribbon on the Hungarian WW1 commemorative, but the correct NC medal to match. Quite unusual. Now, part 2: Why is the medal a NC version?
    12. Eric is quite right, not a single, known, authentic, produced badge........ and hundreds (if not thousands) of fantasy fakes floating around since the 1970's...
    13. 938 is not silver gilt. There is no sesignation for gilt. Only for silver content
    14. Seems to me we just saw more than one type of EK1 with a round pin.
