    1. Hi Carol, I hardly dare to say something about this one. The problem is that there have been quite a lot of manufacturers for this order as it was first made in Amsterdam by the royal court-jeweller, after the separation of Luxembourgh, it was made in luxembourg. So different manufacturers, all I can say is that the quality to my gut-feeling isn't really supperbly, compared with the other pieces I have seen. The diamond-shapes on the front of the cross aren't really diamond shaped as they should have been. the reverse is really bland, even no maker to be seen. The orb of the crown is not finely defined, also it's hitting the ring around the center. It might be that this is a modern one, but still such a poor work for a high order....... What's the asking price of the dealer??? Perhaps could Hendrik tell you more about this order... Kind regards, Jacky
    2. Hi Carol, Although it's not exactly my collectorsfield, I know little about this orders authenticity, Many of us have written about this order. What can I say? Well due to the golden color, it seems a knight first class. Painting and the construction seems quite well to me. I would think it's original. But you can compare yours with the others at this thread Valuewise.. I know nothing about it. Kind regards, Jacky
    3. No one has any opinion or price guide???? Kind regards, Jacky
    4. I can vaguely see it, but couldn't it be something like a st helena medal ??? kind regards, Jacky
    5. Lovely orders!!! Certainly a beauty. When counting the ribbons, I found 9 ribbons, and there are 9 orders included the commander of the million elephants and the white parasol. However which medal is the officer class with the green ribbon?? I think that should denote the cambodian order... Also are the ribbons in a different way to the way where the full size medals are mounted... Stranger things have happended, I love your group really paul!! Kind regards, Jacky
    6. You have passed the test What a wonderfull medal! I like the black with blue of the ribbon, but most of all, the fleur-de-lis on the reverse. Was this queen of french origin?? Kind regards, Jacky
    7. whow... four times the same image?? But I can understand why your image is soon too big for the post.. All the remainder of the scan could have been cut off! This would reduce your file and make it possible to give a bigger scan of the medal itself. Do you happen to have a scan of the reverse?? kind regards, Jacky
    8. Hi and Welcome to this club. Many of us would like to help you with your thriving start, but mind... You have gone on a slippery hill... the way just goes downwards, deeper in to the militaria!! Good luck with it. P.s We love to see a picture of every medal we discuss. Kind regards, Jacky
    9. That's exactly the point I meant to say.... Where does the crown come from???? is there an ancestor of this order with almost the same design?? Kind regards, Jacky
    10. Nice looking order... However I'm wondering why the crown is added to this order?? As Poland is a republic now, communists having decided to ban every sign of the former kingdom..... Thus the crown doesn't make any sense to me .... Could anyone explain this or is it just a fancy addition?? Kind regards, Jacky
    11. whooow, Really nice group!! Order of the danneborg, Member of the british empire and a bronze star!! Any history known of this receipment?? Kind regards, Jacky
    12. wow... Another VC... Heroes are still there, however not always fully recognised. In my opinion, nearly all those soldiers, serving there, are heroes. Only the bastards who gives the mission a bad taste, like those cruell happenings in Abu Gharib etc they are the real faggots in my opinion, the give the good soldiers also the stigma!!! But yes, the medics are always in the line of fire, almost never having the possibility to fire back, all they can do is helping the wounded.... They never get enough recognition. Kind regards, Jacky
    13. I would have loved to have those stars, I'm currently looking for them ?nd the bronze medal of Leopold II and than is my collection of the order of Leopold II complete. However his prices were, as far as I'm concerned, a bit too strong for me. What are your opinions on those stars??? Could you point a manufacturer for those stars too? So .... Will have to look further..... wait a longer time... Does anyone knows what the exact dimensions are of those stars and the grand-cross badge??? Those breaststars appear to be 8 cm by 8 cm. So... Anyone has a breaststar and/or grandcross sash with badge?? The bronze medal is also very welcomed! Kind regards, Jacky
    14. Then the grandcross he only wanted to sell it as a set, 1050,-
    15. Finally I got an offer to buy the following stars and sash; Grandofficer. He was asking 550,- for this one. Just the cross, no box or what so ever with it.
    16. Another strange thing... He's wearing the MBE and then comes the France & germany star.... Shouldn't he have earned the 39-45 star first??? I thought that one had to earn 39-45 first of all stars?? Kind regards, Jacky
    17. Nice bar, I would like to know too where I can find a Member of the Royal Victorian Order for my own collection.... Someone has one for a fair price?? Kind regards, Jacky
    18. The ribbon is almost the same as that one of the order of the Dutch lion from the netherlands, However I like the grandcross sash of the dutch order more than this one... It looks so fragile. Kind regards, Jacky
    19. All I could think about is that the miniatures at this bar could be switched?? Then he might have to go to an ambassador or another official party of Iran... Then he chooses to wear the miniature in the first place... However as a native of germany, the german order had to come in the second place... So.. just a bundle of miniatures put together might be possible too! Kind regards, Jacky
    20. Thank you all for your efforts, I'm still curious about this order. About the pictures, I don't have a camera and scanning the star isn't really possible due to it's convex shape.. Kind regards, Jacky
    21. Hi Gents, I had won the 3rd lottery of GMIC and got a mongolian order of the Polar star. Screwback, number 3991 Said to be a 1941 type. Could anyone give me information about this medal or its decorandus?? Kind regards, Jacky.
    22. I'm so sorry for you Heiko!! I hope that your collection will be recovered!!! I wish you good luck and strength next time. Jacky
    23. Thanks to the gods of internet... They brought us the wonderfull news; Gerhard Back had been awarded the officers grade of the national order of merit (France) Love the internet, which brought us together, will also bring us information Kind regards, Jacky
    24. Nice diploma, because that's just it. The diploma was the award and not a medal to go with it It's a "diplome d'Merite" a certificate of merit. but indeed of the national commission of the Royal red cross. Below is the date June 15th 1880, I thought that there was a war going on in Belgrado/Serbia?? Wasn't there almost always a war going on in Serbia???
