I find the London produced ones more pleasurable to the eyes than those french produced! The french ones look cheaper with the shimmer on it.... Just like it's a toy, a big boy's toy. Kind regards, Jacky
On the bar, the first one must be the verdienstKREUZ and the second one the verdienstORDER Not both the verdienst order, the difference is clearly to be seen between the crosses, the verdienst order had kind of flames whereas the verdienst kreuze had just a maltese cross. Kind regards, Jacky
In 2005 Chirac promised that the last to die would receive a state homage. If I'm correct, this had been declined by all WW1 veterans "poilus"?? Kind regards, Jacky
Hi Stijn, This question should be placed in the imperial German thread, as this is the saxon Order of Albert. If you do a little google on the english name, you will find many pictures of this beautifull order. But also this site gives a good number of hits! Kind regards, Jacky
Hi Rod, I, myself, resize my files with paint, but any other draw-program on your computer will suit!! just a matter of opening the file and then select the whole image; image, resize, 50% by 50% and ready, it's the same proporties but a quarter of the original image! Kind regards, Jacky
Hi Megan, You have been very lucky then, is there any possibility for you to post your collection on the collection forum? Collectors showcase Would love to see your collection, especially the CBE mil and maybe a picture of your fathers set... Taken before the theft? Still not recovered?? Perhaps you would like to tell us his history? Sounds interesting: CB civil & WW2 stars & Bronze star? Kind regards, Jacky

Great, not only a woman, but also a great insight in the world of phaleristics.... Your website is absolutely stunning, many many images and overviews of state-decorations. Welcome here!! Kind regards, Jacky
the last one with the palm and 3 stripes on each side is the belgian war cross with palm. the other one might be the legion of merit, thus this could be leegstra.
Oh lala Knight 4th class MWO Cross for important war actions with 3 clasps National sportmedal for ?? times (would this follow the rosette as being the 2nd time?? I thought that the 3rd time was silver and the 5th time would be a gold medal. Thus the rosette might be 2nd time, 4th time and 6th time??) Officers Long service cross with unknown nummeral WorldWar 1 commemorative cross Hungarian Red cross decoration 2nd class Austrian Redcross decoration 2nd class
Nice joke.... However, I tried them both with as well as without flash, without flash was too dark to see something, but then I tried it this way and sorry... It was the best I could do. I'm just a scientist, not a photographer.........
If I'm correct, the emperor of Japan lost his Order of the Golden fleece at his hotelroom, almost the same day!! And when they returned, it was lost and never again recovered.... Thus he's a knight of the golden fleece without the insignia..... After deceasal of the member, its insignia will have to be returned and will be awarded to a new knight. Kind regards, Jacky
It's a nice bar, but I have to say to Riley that this is no Milit?r Verdienst Orden, which would have enamelled arms but this is a Milit?r Verdienst Kreuz, with metal arms. But the class is correct Kind regards, Jacky
