Hello Andy, the two certificates for the cross are allright. The right certificate ist for the award and the left is a dokument for the return of the cross to the Ordenskanzlei, after the death of the winner. All MVO and MVK's had a obligation to return after the death of the owner. It is correct, after war, he was an official at the german customs.

Hello, in the book "Bayerns Goldenes Ehrenbuch", which shows the storys about all owners of the Militär-Max-Joseph-Orden, Militärsanitätsehrenzeichen and the Tapferkeitsmedaillie Gold / Silber, said his birthday was in 1892. For over three years I worked on a database about the owners of the bavarian bravery-medal. My references were this book, a brochure of the "Verein der Tapferkeitsmedaillienträger 1955" and the listings of the ancestry-database.

Hello, Ohnesorg changes in January 1918 from the Chevaulegers to the artillery as a driver. He finnished the war with the bayerisches Fußartillerie-Bataillon 28. He was awarded with the EK2 in July 1918. I could find his dates at the ancestry-database. Kaiserslautern is a city in the Pfalz-region, which belongs in this time to bavaria. Thats the reason why he join the bavarian army. Show us some pages. Cheers Andreas
