General Hahn commanded 3. Artillerie-Briagde until 21 April 1898 when he was assigned as the temporary commander of 9. Division in Glogau. On 15 June 1898 he was promoted to Generalleutnant and assumed permanent command of 9. Division. He retired on 4 June 1901 having handed over the division to the then Generalmajor Hermann v. Eichhorn on 18 May 1901. He received the Charakter rank of General der Artillerie on 10 September 1913. I have not yet found his date of death. Regards Glenn

Chris, it very much appears that Wegner's "Stellenbesetzung" is wrong with regards Lockemann's given name(s). According to the Ordensliste and Generalmajor Lockemann's death notice in the MWB (and of course your documents); his name was Richard. Only one Prussian General with the surname Lockemann and he died on 26 March 1928. Regards Glenn

Doc, In effect there was no transition of the Hanoverian Army into the Prussian Army in the period immediately following the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. The new raft of regiments numbered 73 to 88 were mainly established from formed companies of existing Prussian Regiments with some men of the former states who were either re-engaged volunteers or had residual service to complete. The amalgamation of the traditions of the new Prussian Regiments, 73, 74, 77 & 79 with those of former Hannoverian Regiments did not occur until the A.K.O. of 24 January 1899: In the case of the former Leib-Regiment, this was henceforth to be considered one and the same with 3. Hannov. Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 79 with a new formation date of 3 January 1838. Infantry Regiment Number 79 had been originally formed from companies from Infantry Regiments 26, 27, 66 and 67 plus recruits from the former Hannoverian Jäger Battalions 1 to 3. Regards Glenn

Hi Daniel, I do not have a copy of the FAR 47 regimental history but the regiment's chapter in volume 8 of "Deutschlands Heere bis 1918" does list the commanders, officers killed in action, numbers of significant awards, rounds fired etc, etc. The "Handbuch der Verbände und Truppen des deutschen Heeres 1914-1918, Feldartillerie Band 1" by Jürgen Kraus details all the regiment's subordinations to higher formations during the war. Hello Iver, I am afraid I have very little on Oberarzt Bernau. He is shown in the 1918 k.k. Landwehr Rangliste still as an Oberarzt im Verhätnis der Evidenz with seniority of 15 December 1914 (20). He had been awarded the bronze military merit medal (Signum Laudis). Regards Glenn
