    2. Vince, Char. Oberstleutnant z.D. Paul Weinland was awarded a patent of seniority of his rank on 23.8.16. At the time, he was the Inspector of the 2nd Immobile Inspectorate of Foot Artillery Replacement Troops. He retired in 1917. Regards Glenn
    3. General Hahn commanded 3. Artillerie-Briagde until 21 April 1898 when he was assigned as the temporary commander of 9. Division in Glogau. On 15 June 1898 he was promoted to Generalleutnant and assumed permanent command of 9. Division. He retired on 4 June 1901 having handed over the division to the then Generalmajor Hermann v. Eichhorn on 18 May 1901. He received the Charakter rank of General der Artillerie on 10 September 1913. I have not yet found his date of death. Regards Glenn
    4. Chris, still WW1: He holds the appointment of Offizier-Stellvertreter. Regards Glenn
    5. Chris, it very much appears that Wegner's "Stellenbesetzung" is wrong with regards Lockemann's given name(s). According to the Ordensliste and Generalmajor Lockemann's death notice in the MWB (and of course your documents); his name was Richard. Only one Prussian General with the surname Lockemann and he died on 26 March 1928. Regards Glenn
    6. Chris, I'm a bit confused.com over this one. I have the I.R. 17 Lockemann, who I believe became commander of IR.118 as Richard. The I.R. 78 Lockemann KIA in 1914 was Adolf. Regards Glenn
    7. Chris, 27 June 1915 to 20 July 1916. He is listed in the Wegner as Karl Hermann Lockemann? Regards Glenn
    8. Paul, I could not see his promotion to Major on the Soldbuch; it was 1.3.39 (69). Regards Glenn
    9. Oberst Max Mauff Served in 2. Garde-Regiment zu Fuß: Fähnrich: 8.8.14 Leutnant ohne Patent: 23.9.14 Leutnant: 23.9.14 Hauptmann (E): 1.5.34 Regards Glenn
    10. Timo, I think he is Herzog Ulrich von Württemberg of Ulanen-Regiment Nr. 20. Regards Glenn
    11. Claudio, He commanded Pionier-Regiment 30 from 10 Sep 1916 and was then General der Pioniere 12. Regards Glenn
    12. Beau, indeed; that is the later Generalleutnant and Ritterkreuz winner, Walter Neumann-Silkow. Regards Glenn
    13. Beau, it is from Aufklärungsabteilung 8. Shown below is a page from the 12 October 1937 Stellenbesetzung: Regards Glenn
    14. No, as far as I can determine only the Bavarian Army has this level of detail at the moment. For the Prussian Army, only the Ranglisten have been digitised. Regards Glenn
    15. Doc, In effect there was no transition of the Hanoverian Army into the Prussian Army in the period immediately following the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. The new raft of regiments numbered 73 to 88 were mainly established from formed companies of existing Prussian Regiments with some men of the former states who were either re-engaged volunteers or had residual service to complete. The amalgamation of the traditions of the new Prussian Regiments, 73, 74, 77 & 79 with those of former Hannoverian Regiments did not occur until the A.K.O. of 24 January 1899: In the case of the former Leib-Regiment, this was henceforth to be considered one and the same with 3. Hannov. Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 79 with a new formation date of 3 January 1838. Infantry Regiment Number 79 had been originally formed from companies from Infantry Regiments 26, 27, 66 and 67 plus recruits from the former Hannoverian Jäger Battalions 1 to 3. Regards Glenn
    16. Hi Daniel, I do not have a copy of the FAR 47 regimental history but the regiment's chapter in volume 8 of "Deutschlands Heere bis 1918" does list the commanders, officers killed in action, numbers of significant awards, rounds fired etc, etc. The "Handbuch der Verbände und Truppen des deutschen Heeres 1914-1918, Feldartillerie Band 1" by Jürgen Kraus details all the regiment's subordinations to higher formations during the war. Regards Glenn
    17. Hello Iver, I am afraid I have very little on Oberarzt Bernau. He is shown in the 1918 k.k. Landwehr Rangliste still as an Oberarzt im Verhätnis der Evidenz with seniority of 15 December 1914 (20). He had been awarded the bronze military merit medal (Signum Laudis). Regards Glenn
    18. Chip, not the regulations but I have a copy of "Die Feldgraue friedens-und Kriegs-Bekleidung der K.Bayerischen Armee" by Helm & Ströbel. Regards Glenn
    19. Gunnar, that would be Rittmeister Detlef Adolf Hermann v. Schlieffen. Born 3 Jan 1885, he was a prewar officer in Kürassier-Regiment Nr. 2. 10.3.06: Fahnenjunker 17.11.06: Fähnrich 14.4.07: Leutnant (Patent of 20.10.05) 9.11.14: Oberleutnant 13.1.16: Rittmeister Awarded the HOH3X Regards Glenn
    20. Chris, Because as a Senior Noncommissioned officer (Unteroffizier mit Portepee) he was entitled to wear the officers' pattern Feldzeichen. See below from paragraph 139 of the Bavarian Bekleidungsordnung of 21 January 1904 concerning the rank distinctions of the Feldwebel/Wachtmeister and Vizefeldwebel/Vizewachtmeister (Last two lines):
