Andreas has said it for me on his site, "Better to own one medal bar for $1000 than 10 bars at $100." There will always be a demand for that type of item.
Those square pieces on the reverse, are they attachment devices for the swords? Unusual to see a device attached through the ribbon and the mount. The crown and sabers appear to be attached in a more traditional manner.
Looks like it got hot enught to melt the solder between halves of the frame but not hot enough to damage the silver frame itself. The cross represents a good definition of "salty." Interesting piece.
byf, I don't know if they learned that lesson at all. They were cranking out 100 Tigers a month to the Russian's 1000 T-34s. No doubt how that one would sort out over time.
It looks a little narrower than a typical Meybauer but I can't say it isn't Meybauer. What about some of you Meybauer wizards out there? Any manufacturing telltales on this piece?
