    1. The three marks, crescent moon, 800 and crown are a source of great debate on private purchase aviation badges with respect to authenticity. Are there any such concerns with regard to private purchase EKIs?
    2. I hope I spelled phoneticallyis, "Yes,you're welcome", in Hangul.
    3. A little steep but it depends on how important it is to one's collecting goals. Great eye, Rick!
    4. One picks up a few tidbits of information here and there during a 22 year career in the regular army.
    5. The "V" device indicates an award for valor and is most frequently, but not exclusively, seen on the Bronze Star Medal.
    6. Reverse sides would help but we have discussed this medal before. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=150&hl=memel+medal Check out the search function for other comments.
    7. I like Joe's. That is a truly unique piece. I own two and have not succumbed to the habit yet...
    8. Always nice to have the ribbon bar and medal bar together! That way there can be no doubt.
    9. That is what I would call a "tough old trooper!"
    10. Well, when I'm in France I try to speak a little French and I have found my listeners to be remarkably tolerant of my abuse of their languge. They have always seemed to be most gracious.
    11. US Navy Aviation Machinist Chief Petty Officer. Gold chevrons indicate years and years of good conduct as you can tell from the Navy Good Conduct Medal with two awards(stars).
    12. Congratulations to all and well done! Good 'sojurin'.
    13. Christophe, I wasn't suggesting you learn conversational Korean only a few phrases as simple as hello, goodbye, please and thank you. As you know from your prior visits Korea is a very courteous culture.
    14. Interesting flight gear collection, Jos. How long have you been assembling your collection?
    15. I wish I was able to take you myself! I have been there several times. Korea is the best kept secret in the Army! I would ask the concierge at the hotel where you will be staying to put you in touch with a guide/tour service. It will be a interesting visit for you but be sure to tour Seoul and the great south gate of the city. Ride the Blue Train to Pusan and look at the battle scars on the railway tunnels coming and going. Take a bus out to Inchon and maybe you can catch the extremes of the high and low tide. (That was a significant invasion obsticle that had to be well timed) Learn some simple Korean phrases before you go and they will love you for your effort!
    16. Time was when all navy/coastguard signalmen could handle semaphores. Now it is just another archaic skill. Rick, I really like the Saxon Hussar photo. Those old glass plates were super!
    17. Interesting medal. That ribbon is used on more than one Bulgarian decoration, is it not? Military or Civilian medal bar, no matter, I like 'em all!
