      Thanks Paul! And would you have any idea how those commemorative side caps are called?

      Medal to ID

      In fact I have two questions. First is how do you call this sort of cap's? And second is the meaning or name of the medal saying "La société des 40 hommes et 8 chevaux" ... Thanks for your reply.
    5. Any chance to have a better pic? The guy on the left (probably a officer!) might wear the 1928 model uniform, but all others have the 1915 uniform. It is defenetly post WWI. The stripes on the arm of the soldier on the right means he has over 8 years of service. cheers |<ris
    6. Wow!
    7. A late 1800 death notice (+/- 23 by 29 cm)printed in Brussels;
    8. I think I showed mine before somewhere on the forum... But here it is again. It belonged to De Grave Celine Ludorica , she and here sister were active, in Antwerp, for the M14 Van Houcke service.
    9. Peter is a member here (I tought!?), try to get he's attention.
    10. Try Peter Suciu; he might be of some help! http://www.militarysunhelmets.com/author/peter
    11. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you too! |<ris ;
    12. Defenetly no Napoleonic time button . It is a early XX th century production, probably a fashion button for cape's ...
    13. Here is a intresting data visualization of WWII..., it might exist for WWI as well... http://omeleto.com/219202/
    14. Thanks for your reply Paul! I also would put the medal in that time area, that's why I find it matching so well with the Sapnienkreuz... The thing is that the Belgian air force never used eagles in logo's or insigna....
    15. I like it very much and it presents well with a Spanienkreuz (to me!); but I have no clue what the medal was made for.... So if anyone might know; please speak! ;-)
    16. Those are nice badges but not that hard to get. Some stock's where found in the '80 ties here in Antwerp and still for sale at most flea markets.
    17. Very intresting find, first one I see.
    18. Do these caps come any near of " GASTADORES DE REGULARES of TETUAN. "?
    19. "New collecting field"...? You just got yourself a entyre collection...(lol!!)
    20. First one looks to be Spanish. |<
    21. I was one of the bidders on that lot! ;-) Congratulations on aquiring it.If you ever would part of one of the Belgian insigna , please let me know. I have no idea on the first two insigna, but I'll do some research. Last one is French colonial artillerie, probably used on the pith helmet mod 1878. cheers |<ris
