It is a grey metal that turned out slightly black.... Never foud out what is was exactly used for. Strange thing is that a similar one turned up on WRF.

According to two French collector's; it would indeed be Foreign legion. I'll wait for more advice. A third one juste respond as well and is positive as well; 7 flames and a empty field in the grenade.

Indeed! Sorry I should have specify that. It was just so obvious to me. Just one rectification; there is a difference between Dutch and Flemish! Dutch is anything related to the Netherlands, Flemish is to Flanders/ Belgium. And Berchem being part of Antwerp,like you correctly stated, makes it Flemish. cheers |<ris Not pedantic at all!
