    1. Hi everyone, here is an award card of a Red Banner, which i once owned and which was unfortunately a piece, which i wasn?t comfortable with and i sent it back. However, to make a long story short, research was already ordered and the researcher wasn?t able anymore to stop it. The new owner of the piece is unfortunately not interested in the research, even for half of the price So i share the award card with your guys here, that its not completely wasted money. Its interesting, as he was a quite young chap who was highly awarded with Bravery Awards. Here is the list: Order of the Great Patriotic War Nr. 17.988 13.9.43 Order of the Red Banner Nr. 106969 7.6.44 Order of the Red Banner Nr. 171.319 18.8.44 Order of Alexander Nevsky Nr. 25.514 14.1.45 Order of the Red Banner Nr. 203.417 20.2.45 Order of the GPW 2nd class Nr. 194.850 8.6.45 Order of Suvorov Nr. 2.729 2.12.45 Order of the Red Star Nr. 3.626.994 30.12.56 Medal for Military Merit w/o S/n 17.5.51 Medal for the Capture of Budapest Medal for Victory over Germany The award card, obverse

For showing Courage and Initiative he deserves to be awarded the Order of the Great Patriotic War 2nd class. Chief of REO UK VT and MV (still trying to figure out, what that is) 2nd Belorussian Front Lieutenant-Colonel Privalov (?)
    3. Wild Card, i agree completely. Noone would be better to detect stolen pieces, like us collectors, if you give us a list with the serialnumbers of these. Gerd
    4. Hi Simon, that looked like an intersting forum, but with very few entries unfortunately. Also unfortunate is, that this Suvorov 2 is a little out of my budget-range take a look on the page with the Red Star, section "Duplicates, Mint Errors, "spare", etc... Its the very last one on that page, inscribed "Душечкина К. К." Thanks again for posting a link to the pictures. Gerd
    5. I disagree. Its interesting to see, how others started, even if its with a Medal for Victory over Germany.
    6. Here is my very first one. An Order of the Red Banner Nr. 369.473, Type 4, researched, see http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=1542 I got it from ebay for 65 Euro in 2004
    7. Heh, i thought the same, when i got the message. Did i break any rules without even posting anything? Strange, must either be my bad consience or indeed the forum.
    8. No, Darrel, he?s not mad, he is eccentric God thanks i am one of the collectors, who still has his mind together. Got to go now, my Red Banners talked to me and told me to kill the fascist neighbor next door PS: AWESOME smiley
    9. Simon, do you have seen the engraved Red Star on soviet-screwbacks.com? http://www.soviet-screwbacks.com
    10. Thats awesome . Has it been researched or has the name been confirmed somehow?
    11. Nice group, Chris. Has definately more thrill than a double marked EK 1 I am really temted to get a documented Medaille Militaire, but i just can?t collect everything...
    12. Nice, Andreas. 9th Cavalry had an interesting raid in 1942 with the 1st Guard Cavalry Corps under General Belov against the German Heeresgruppe Mitte. The germans had to send no less than seven divisions to get them out of their rear area. If you really don?t want it, i?ll take it
    13. Rich, welcome in the wonderful world of soviet medals You will find the information, you are looking for in this thread: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7861 and i want to recommend you to buy the book "Echoes of war" from Paul Schmitt, if you want to learn about the deeds behind this medals or take a look in our researched awards forum. Or better both And yes, that medal is definately researchable. all the best, Gerd
    14. Thanks for the reply, Dave. Thats sounds very interesting. I have never heard about seperate tank evacuation units too, i allways was under the impression, that either the crew was responsible to evacuate their tank or with special personal, who were attached to the Tank-Units. Thanks! Gerd
    15. TWO service records came with this research and i don?t know, if both belong to our chap. I guess, this is the right one, but will post the other one too. Part one:
