And the Medal for Valor is very worn. I would love to know, what he had as well. Is it possible to find out, which Commemorative Medals he might have had?

The name of the former owner is Vladimir Korneevitch Raevsky. Here are entries and stamps of his order book.

This group came in today. Its a Group consisting of three awards with Documents. There is a nice Red Star, nr. 580.534, a Medal for Valor Nr. 1.228.393 and a Order of the Great Patriotic War 2nd class (85er issue). Red Star and Valor Medal are documented in an order book, 1946 issue, the OGPW has an own document, of course. Sweet little group. I love it

If the colors of the scans of the first bar is right, then its a Partisan 1st class in my opinion. The red of the Partisan Medal is a tad lighter than on the Defense of Stalingrad Medal, isn?t it? If so, then this is a Partisan 1st class. Gerd

Darrel, try to get one with orders book. You know at least the name of the awardee and date of award then. I would have bought one with orders book too, but was offered this piece for a price, i could not deny. Gerd

Hi everyone, i got this Order of the October Revolution today. Serial number is 63497. Lowest observed number is 58645. Interesting is, that it has a very broad rotating-tool engraved Serial number. Also, it has some typical scratches on the reverse, which show up, when the order was worn over a Medal. *The Order of the October Revolution was institutet in 1967 and it was awarded to citizens of the USSR, Military Units, and civillian or state organizations. Itw was awarded for major contributions in strengthening Soviet Power and culture, bravery in battle, or creating friendlier ties with peoples or governments of the world. No Red-Star, because they were not instituted, when he had 15 years, no Combat Medal, because they weren?t Long-Service awards at that time. Active Duty since 1918.... so he would have had 20 years in 38, but gets his Red-Banner only in November 44? And his 25 years Lenin only in 45? Where is the mistake in my calculation? 48 Jubilee Medal months before his 30 years ORB, that fits again. mmmh.... Enlighten me, master Gerd

When Red-Banner AND Lenin are Long-Service awards, then was this already an old fellow in 45, right? If he chose to buy such an expensive medalbar for such a short period of time, then he must have been a poser too. Now to find a Lenin and a RedBanner, which belong together and restore the medalbar.
