    1. The Suojeluskunta (Civil Guard) Merit corss was established in silver and iron grade (silver is scarce, ca. 500 only awarded). Two last shields are shooting awards of local SK detachments. This one in the pocket button hole is possibly Estonian Kaitselit (Defence League) member badge.
    2. Agreed. Same "award" was already discussed on WAF. This neither Hanseatic War Merit Cross, nor a Kriegerverein member corss. regards Tomasz
    3. The best source for the Iron Crosses 1813, 1870 and 1914 is the book by Frank Wernitz (German & English issues available), published 2013 by Verlag Militaria in Vienna: https://www.militaria.at/Book.aspx?book=1008000&Language=de greetings Tomasz
    4. Hi, cross seems to be known variant with "V" manufacturer's mark (maker not identified), iron core type M. Characteristic for this version is 9 touching the following 1 in the date 1914. Ring is a reduced original. regards Tomasz
    5. Here is one more Saxon bar. At the last place was probably a Saxon veterans associaton medal - and replaced by EKF after 1934. regards Tom
    6. Looks OK for me. There were a few versions of the pin-set and maker's mark. You can compare here: http://www.ek1-dna.de/l59-alois-rettenmaier,-schwaebisch-gmuend.html regards Tom
    7. Nice and very scarce box There is still the old name of decoration on its lid (on March 2nd 1918 the official name was changed from the Militär-Verdienst-Medaille (Military Merit Medal) to Tapferkeits-Medaille (Bravery Medal)
    8. As I have read on a Slovak forum, the type with incsription "Javorina Orava" was awarded to the members of foreign armies. In this case probably to a soldier of Wehrmacht units, which had invaded Poland from the Slovak territory (September 1939).
    9. Very good looking bar with scarce Bravery Medal (less than 3000 awarded only). Has the medal inscription on the edge?
    10. Especially the back differ form the awarded originals. But your type is for sure less common PS. Also the door is different. Interesting piece
    11. Clear Very nice looking bar. The Hanseatic Hamburg cross is a privately purchased Spangenstück. greetings Tomasz
    12. 212th Reserve Infantry Regiment was a Hanseatic regiment, raised in Hamburg and Bremen. Interesting, why a Bavarian Long Service Medal here?
    13. I have seen normal size Mecklenburg Schwerin MVK1 by Godet, which had also the closed 4 - but marking was on the cross, not on pin. How smaller is the cross? May be a Prinzen?
    14. Agreed, an early silver one. Later issues were made of zinc (see pictures below). PS. Small correction: this medal is common for both principialties: Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt and Schwarzburg-Sondershausen, which were in personal union under rule of prince Günther Victor since 1909
    15. The EK looks strange, at least as was repainted. Indeed, the signature and some more pictures will be helpful here.
    16. I am just asking For sure, I haven't so big knowledge and experience as you...
    17. Nice bar, but on your picture Oldenburg medal is on the correct 1st position - and on the bar of thread starter behind the cross (as the Long Service Corss should be)
    18. Are you sure? The ribbon of Oldenburg medal 1866 is rather red in the middle, and the internal stripes in dark blue... http://antique-photos.com/en/awardsdatabase/german-empire/oldenburg/291-1866-military-campaign-medal.html
    19. This was from an auction catalog. Indeed not perfect quality But as you can see also on the document shown dy Dansson, all forms for the German soldiers (and in German laguage) have the same date 3. July 1919. A document for Finnish citiziens looks different (the picture is slightly cut at the top an bottom due to scanners size) regards Tomasz
    20. I have also father of this beuaty The owner was Dr. Carl Wilhelm Rosenlew. greetings Tomasz
