    1. Hi Paul, I think this is a great idea. There are some new material since this book cames out and I consider it worth to be mentioned on a reprint of this volume. I still consider O'Conner books is the best source about the german aviation. Let me know if you start working. 1. I would buy a copy 2. It depend on the quality of the print. Do you plan to print this on color? Hard or soft cover? A price between 60 - 85 USD is fair. Regards Alex
    2. You got it. The first badge was a badge for qualified pilots. The second one was a commemorative badge awarded to former pilots / observers after retired, if they fullfilled the requirements. Regards Alex
    3. Thank you for your help. Regards Alex
    4. Thanks Dave. I agree with you on the first two ribbons, also on the last two. Number 4 could also be a German ribbon, like the Heasen AEZ. On this picture he is an Olt, therefor he was an Lt prior his service on turkey. He wear the German observer badge. He had to be an officer when he started training as observer. 1. Iron cross 2nd class 2. Oldenburg: Friedrich-August-Kreuz 2nd class with class 3. DA 9 (?) 4. ? 5. Turkey: war medal with clasp 6. Turkey: liakat medal Regards Alex
    5. Thanks Mattyboy. It might be the blue ribbon of the Württemberg Friedrichs Orden. But where is the sword device??? On the second ribbon it looks like an clasp, too. Maybe for the Oldenburg Friedrich-August-Kreuz. Do you ment this? I got both pictures. Regards Alex
    6. Here my contribution. Maybe someone can identify the clasp on the ribbon for the TWM. Regards Alex
    7. I need some support to identify the ribbons on this ribbon bar. The guy on this picture looks to be a german officer who surved for the ottoman air service. He wear the german observer badge, ottoman aviation badge, iron cross and the wound badge. On the right chest the ottoman war medal. So far so good but what does he wear on the bar? can someone identify the clasp on the ribbon for the war medal? Regards Alex

    9. Most were awarded 1917 and 1918. Only two fliers received the badge 1915 and 1916. I looked through O'Conners book but couldn't find him. Regards alex
    10. Thank you for this overview. Vary nice medals, especially the Meybauer one. I never seen before. Regards Alex
    11. Vizeflugmeister wore the same uniform as an Flugmeister. On the visor they wore the same patches as the officers. I think this is the only difference between Flug(ober)meister and Vizeflugmeister. Look at the picture of Vizeflugmeister Klotz I attached. regards Alex

    18. 50, 60 or 80€ for one picture is not realy a high price, Depend on what kind of picture this are regular prices. I see pictures went for more than 400€ and more than one time. Pictures for more than 200€ are normal for aviation or tank theme. I bought several times pictures for more than 70€ and was outbid more time for this amount. Regards Alex
    19. Oh, someone post here. Vary nice cap tally in good condition. Thanks for posting. Regards Alex
    20. Yes this man cames originaly from Flieger Ersatz Abteilung Nr 13. But they kept the number of the replacement unit after the tranfer on the front. Not possible to say where or when this picture was taken. Probalble this guy was a ground crew member but it could be also flight crew member. Regards Alex
    21. Hi Mercin, i think the book is in german. About the german Flieger Bataillone (FB) here some basic infos. Flieger Bataillon Nr. 1 Flieger Bataillon Nr. 2 Flieger Bataillon Nr. 3 Flieger Bataillon Nr. 4 Bayerisches Flieger Bataillon On the bottom you find a section called "durch das Bataillon aufgestellte Abteilungen" Means units introduced by this battalion. The number on the strapes of EM and NCO are assigned to the Flieger-Ersatz-Abteilungen not to Flieger Batallion. During the war there were no battalions. This were transfered to the units you find behind the links. Officer wear no number on the strapes only the winged propeller or the strapes of their regiment. Regards Alex
