Hi Would anyone be able to tell me if Alfred Bonaventura von Rauch (Priesdorfs SF Bd 8 S. 16), a General der Cavallerie could have been the same as Alfred von Rauch, around 1864 Major ausser Dienst, from the Garde du Corps? Maybe a bit curious, but in my experience there are more officers who re-entered militairy service during the 1866 or 1870 wars and made a career. Thanks in advance regards David

Hi Some orders describe their Commanders Cross first Class as 2a whilst others, such as the PROA give it as 2mSt would not that be virtually the same and therefore can't I just write PROA2a? Or would that be wrong. Would like to hear your opinion regards David

Hi Rick Thanks, the data on Gerlach and Bergh is most certainly consistent with some data I already had. before, I thought you mentioned that you made copies of the original? Would that have been Xerox-copies or something like that and if so, would it be possible for you to scan the copies in order to show a complete list of awards? regards David

Hi Rick I have some people who got saxe-weimars orders and decorations pretty early (almost all before 1866) Am I correctly assuming you have the 1859 STB? Would there be recipients list of the ODM of Saxe-Weimar in it? If so, would it be possible for you to either scan them in this topic or should I give the names of the individuals I am looking for?
