    1. I would of thought just pure coincidence re the dates, may be write to the Red Cross Society to see if they hold records or have a website ??
    2. As i understand it this glider badge is a civil award ? a pre war French association (FIA) but internationally recognised so he may of been awarded before his commission into the navy ??
    3. I am afraid Iron Cross collecting is not so simple πŸ˜› as Orth along with others did use parts/stamps from other makers, though the cross looks fine from pictures provided. It is a nice cased example but a fairly common cross to enjoy πŸ‘πŸ‘
    4. Looks like a `15` stamp for Friedrich Orth so some more research required :-) Don`t think Julius Maurer made the 1st class ??
    5. Looks like a later production of the EK2 1914\18 ?
    6. Phew, a lot going on there ! not sure when it all began ? will be keeping a close eye on the progression of thread.
    7. Hi Chris, to my knowledge there was no document actually giving the date to when crosses had to be dated with PKZ numbers but is generally believed to be late1942 ? to early 1943 unlike the LDO system in early1941.
    8. welcome Robbie, as above a nice Wagner of Berlin type 1870 cross πŸ‘

    13. Some very nice treasures Klaus πŸ˜ƒ thanks for sharing, i am not to keen on the tanks badge but the EK` s are superb πŸ‘
    14. A couple of weeks ( 3rd. May) ago there was quite a good program on BBC2 (U.K.) about the family company that makes the Red ceremonial uniforms for this coronation called "Coronation Tailors : Fit For a King". An interesting watch if you can locate it πŸ™‚

    17. sorry for the delay i have been looking through a few references, but i am afraid i can`t find an answer as the only personnel (beside the mechanics) would of been the HG tank crews because i don`t think the mech overalls has breast eagles applied? If you can locate the the three volume set on the L/W the answer may be there πŸ™‚ Good luck.
    18. Super, there are some great crosses shown here with some rare and unusual fixing methods πŸ‘ (always good to see the reverse`s). Any particular rare makers you have identified ? Thanks for showing
