    6. Dan, Thanks for your additional information. My belt meets the dimensions and description of the "Bandolier Strap" you have researched. Regards, Joel
    7. Steve, Between yourself and Micha, you guys are finding some real splendid Crosses! I haven't seen a "930" in quite some time. Way to Go! Regards, Joel
    8. I love the pre 1900 Medal bars. They have an almost crudeness about them that appeals to me.
    9. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but I think it looks like a "G" for Godet. The investigation continues..... Joel
    10. Butch, You have a nice collection my friend! Look's as though you have most of your bases covered there. Regards, Joel
    11. Blitz, I was going to update. However, after seeing the data entries you had to perform with posting Frontkampfer's museum, I'll wait till the morn! LOL!
    12. Steve, Sorry my friend. I can't help you with the manufacturing process. Hopefully, others will chime in with their expertise on this one for both of us. Regards, Joel
    13. Steve, I hope to think that I clarified things. There are fewer made this way thats for sure. Regards, Joel
    14. Steve, It look's as though the coating on the core has been enameled. There were many different core variations used by Konigliche Munzamt Orden and others for their Crosses. From this, It is my belief that some were enameled and most as we see them were of course, painted. IMO, i think that this one is one such variant. I have had several Crosses that were purportedly enameled and I believe your's is such a Cross.
    15. Steve, The condition and enameled core on that one is definately worth a double-take. Regards, Joel
    16. bifter, Don't beat yourself up over it my friend. Though, my collection is primarilly of common finds, I have acquired some rather interesting pieces in the darndest of places. Sure, there are items that others have that are well beyond my means, but I revel in the fact that they are displayed on Forums like these for us all to enjoy. My advice? Don't give up and don't get disheartened for I have always found the most interesting pieces when I wasn't expecting it and for short money. Keep the collecting torch ablaze and keep you chin held high and you'll come out a winner! Regards, Joel
    17. Gents, Seeing that the 89th Anniversary of the signing of the Armistace of WWI was the other day, I found it fitting that I had to buy a little Great War Militaria to commemorate that day. Here is a Bugle that definately tells the story of "being there." The Bugle was made by the firm, U.W. York and Sons . Included, is most of the original leather strapping with the field repaired buckles. I love it and once the "War Room" is completed, the Bugle will be displayed proudly! Regards, Joel
    18. I agree.. They are one of those interesting varients that makes collecting these all the more fascinating. Regards, Joel
