I pried the platinum Lenin head off of an order of Lenin because I was told that mine had a rare maker mark on the reverse. I just had to see it. Of course, there was none.

Those sound like interesting tales. The Wiki sites that you provided do not provide much information on these patrols. There is nothing under the Japanese sub link, at all.

That sucks Chris. Do you have any of your stuff remaining? I have been really tempted a few times to trade off my Iraqi Flag, Columbian beret and insignia, and other bits for German militaria... then I felt I would be splitting another grouping(mine), and decided against it. I am starting to branch off in other directions for collecting focuses. I think that I will end up keeping a couple of my favorite LW tunics and selling the rest to start on a WW2 and earlier Coast Guard collection.

You are definitely not alone. I have not bought any Soviet Awards since 1996!!! I remember the average price of a ORS being 5 dollars and ORB being 20 dollars. I should have bought more...

I hear you, but it does matter from a collector's point of view. I do not collect US stuff, but I do know of a lot of people who do... especially DCU items. I am sure that they would be pretty excited to see an FBI or ICE DCU tunic!! Some of the DCUs from the current operations are already fetching pretty big price tags. Unheard of, since the conflict is still ongoing.

This is the first time I have seen this medal combination... Does anyone have any ideas to the number of these medals awarded? I love Non combattant awards!!! :jumping:

Those are some really nice quality embroideries. The top set of metallic wings look like US Marine Corps jump wings, to me.
