    1. Thanks Chris. I wish that there were a way to date these coins. From what I understand, they went unchanged for a very long time.
    2. Those are some great items Chris! Whoever made them had some real talent! I could not imagine making anything like this in a POW setting, as I am sure that the tools were quite homemade.
    3. Kevin, Thanks for sharing these!! I never even knew of this organization.
    4. Thank you all for your insight and information. Kevin, that is one sharp looking uniform! I will try to find a basic later period jump badge and ribbon bar and call it good.
    5. In my opinion, Volksturm/HJ items were so non standard that no one could say either way. I have seen just about every combination of everything available used by the Volksturm. I would love to hear the opinion of the HJ folks on this!
    6. Very nice!! I do need to get a para badge for this tunic!!
    7. Thank you for posting the images I would never see otherwise!! I like the section on Tito!
    8. Hey Chris Border Guard Aviation units. Here is a nice article on this branch of the East German Border Guard. Just click on the Aviation link on the left. http://www.grenzer.com/Unitsmain.htm According to the linked reference, the Grenzflieger had: * Steinheid: 1 Mi-24D Hind * Kreuzebra: 1 Mi-TB Hip * Meiningen: 1 Mi-24D Hind (also deployed in the winter) Not a seemly large unit in any respect.
    9. Hello, I am not a helmet expert, so either way I would wait for another opinion. But, I do not like the liner. It does not look like any I have seen, material wise. Also the decal looks suspicious to me as well. Regards Paul
    10. I want to share with you what I have for the Grenzflieger. I would love to see what you have that is related to this topic!!!
    11. Thanks Gordon, Please do info me on the Fallshirmjager blade!! What badges would you suggest for the above posted uniform? Was the orange beret only for parade? Paul
    12. Thanks Guys!! I do appreciate it. Is there something I can look for in the construction that could determine if the maker is Erel?
    13. That is some great stuff Gordon!! A woman like that would scare the crap out of me. If she rolled on top while we were sleeping, it would be the death of me!! LOL That paratrooper blade is the first I have ever seen. Are they difficult to find?
    14. That is a great image! Here are some more related items in this thread. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=20352
    15. Here we go!! I am just glad that I have my original. You are right... this second one looks like the reproduction!
    16. I want to see what DDR Paratrooper items you may have residing in your collections! Here is one set!
    17. Since most of my tunic collection consists of Officer tunics, I figured I would get more bang for my buck if I got an officer's visor to use with them! The sweat shield is gone, so I have no idea who the maker is. The visor itself feels "plushy" and seems to have been a high quality piece!!
    18. I will make the photos tonight. These fakes are getting really good. I got this one for 20 dollars three years ago. I figured that there was something up with it...
